I haven't had mine out for 2 years. I'd better open it up and check it too. Make sure it's not stuck together. It looks like your tent is in good shape. Thanks for the TC2P videos. It's my favorite tent too. Merry Christmas!

Hey bud, put the rain fly out in the sun for a few days. Let the sun roll over it, afterwards wash it then leave it out in the sun for a few more days. Do this for both sides. It will dry out and that throw up smell goes away. I’ve done this with the USMC tarps and pack liners that were to the point they were sticky and smelly. The sun really does the trick, it will buy you some time but eventually it will need replacement. Eddie wheels 😬🧑🏻🦽👍 NJ.

I think I'm just about at the point of needing a new fly. You're right, the sun works wonders on these things!

I have that tent, but I did buy it in modules. First the rainfly that I thought I would only use as a tarp. I ended up buying the inner without the poles, which I made and worked well. Now, I have the full tent and I use it at least 4 times a year. You have showed images to Night Desert Parka , something that I would like to have, but I can't get my size or who has it, don't send it to my country. It seems that we are the third world, even though it is in europe.

If you have the fly for this specific tent, turn it inside out. One side is camo, the other side is desert tan.
@joseligeiro3 ай бұрын
@@robertsbushcraft I know. My country as alot of green, so I use the camo side.

Like you said Curry it's a palace for one man but a lot off weight to ruck solo. I got mine online and it came without the stuff sack. I have it in an old MOPP NBC suit bag but would love to find an original stuff sack for it. It's a toss up between this tent and my TCOP for cool weather camping. Like you if I find another one in good shape I'll probably buy it. I need another tent like I need a hole in my head as I have this one, 2 TCOP's, a Lite Fighter 1, an ICS in ACU and 2 French surplus (desert and NATO versions). Thanks for braving the heat to bring us this video. It's 786 degrees here in southwest Alabama as well.

Funny. What you call a tarp we do here to. But in the Aust Army its a Hootchie. Which is mostly ok in Australia. An aftermarket DD 4x4m can make a nice 2 man apex tent ⛺️ closable at either end. No snow in most of thos country and a 3x3 is generally enough close one end off room for gear and 2 bodies

Lookin' good! Got mine out of storage this weekend too. Agree with you: can't beat the value! I could be mistaken, but I assumed the smell comes from the bug treatment applied to the fabric.
@robertsbushcraft3 ай бұрын
The permethrin has a different smell. The "dirty baby diaper" smell starts with the breakdown of the polyurethane coating

Why are there 2 holes for the poles at each corner?

It allows you to tighten it up a little bit more if you like/want your tent and it's floor more taunt.

LiteFighter makes a two man tent in multicam, it is not the USMC 2 Man that I'm showing here. LiteFighter does however (or did) have a contract to manufacture the USMC version, but to my knowledge only in M81.

MGySgt try getting in the prone and see if you still like that vest set up. I think you might find yourself a bit exposed.
@robertsbushcraft3 ай бұрын
It feels like the old ALICE gear we ran back in the 90's. Prone with any gear on is going to be less than comfortable.
@roypaulcarter46543 ай бұрын
I agree with you no fun at all. The good thing was you could place the mag pouches towards the side so you could get your body on the ground and out of sight of the enemy. Our chest rigs leave our chest shoulders and head exposed. I ran a vest with a zipper down the center for that reason. I could always unzip and get my belly on the ground if I needed to. But I don’t think there is a good solution for the problem just different ways of dealing with it. I enjoy your videos best of luck to you and your family. God bless.
