I do think if brands were smart they would come out with a light to medium eyeshadow palette and a medium to dark palette. Same tones but for different skin tones. As an MUA that would be so much more helpful than a huge palette.

Sydney Grace! She’s awesome and makes a light and deep version of almost all her palettes. And her shadows are lovely, creamy and pigmented. You can just buy singles too. Mattes are six bucks and shimmers are seven dollars. Special chrome shades are more.

The eye shadows is just a basic nude palette. Tarte Amazonian clay, Master Mattes by Make up By Mario*, Nyx Warm Neutrals, ELF mad for Matte nude moods, etc etc pick a brand, they have something that will work for this. My friend from high school had psoriasis, and around homecoming she started tanning, in the tanning bed. She realized that it did help her psoriasis! So whenever she would have flare ups, she would go lay in the tanning bed. So I do believe her on that.

I won’t be buying this new collection just because I HATE the spacing in between the eyeshadow pans. I don’t really care for the kardashian/jenners either way and have never really been keen on buying any of their products. I buy from Skims because they make modal cotton boxer briefs and panties in a size inclusive range AND they sell adaptive versions of a lot of their underthings, also in a size inclusive range. That’s really rare, especially for adaptive clothing, and it’s rare to get adaptive clothes in a wide range of colors, sexy, etc. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’m going to start slowly trying her loungewear because I’ve heard such good things, and some of it looks so soft! And again, I love supporting a brand that says “yep, we have customers who are XXS to 4X, and we want them all to feel sexy and/or comfortable!” Add in the adaptive clothes and use of disabled models and campaigns that are supporting queer and trans models, older models… on the one hand, sure, it’s a Kardashian brand and I’m always suspicious of those, but she doesn’t have to do ANY of this, but does - and doesn’t make a fuss about it. There’s never any public patting her back about having one of the only companies offering cute and size inclusive adaptive clothes, or hiring disabled models to model regular clothing, or ANY of the noted things the brand does. 🤷🏼‍♀️ It’s a combination of actions and surprisingly good quality clothing that inspires brand loyalty.

Evert time i hear "Clean Beauty" i think of the old Covergirl Cosmetics ads. Easy breezy beautiful. But i swear in the 1970s and 80s they had "clean" in their advertising especially for foundation. All it meant was it smelled Ike Noxzema, so maybe some eucalyptus scent? It was otherwise heavy duty slightly greasy full coverage. Does CoverGirl still smell like Noxzema? I don't think I've had anything from their line since the mid 80s.

I also used to use Sea Breeze as a teen & that smelled too! Victoria Beckham’s name is definitely a selling point but she doesn’t churn out products and her entire line looks very curated and very _her._ Her makeup is pricy but the packaging is luxe and the quality of the makeup itself is nice. I think that’s what sets her, Selena Gomez, and Rihanna apart from other celebrities/influencers with makeup lines. Each of their brands actually reflect their individual styles, they’re well thought-out, and their pricing reflects the overall quality. The same can’t be said of many celebrity/influencer brands who churn out products that you know they don’t even wear.

I do agree on some of da comments saying the palette looks cheap... i have a friend who bough a makeup palette from a dollar store and the only thing he uses is the black. When I see that black shadow all I think about is the people like my buddy who buys the palette and only uses, like, two shades. Those transitional colors are not there! I see like two unnecesarily similar colors that could be exchanged for even deeper versions!

I agree with your opinion on the term “clean”. I’m a beauty specialist at Target and Ulta Beauty Inside Target and people will come in and ask me for “clean brands”. I have to ask okay what’s your definition of clean because that really doesn’t mean anything, there’s no solid, tried and true definition. Any company can say it’s clean, regardless of what it has in it. So what are your expectations of a “clean brand” so I can guide you in the right direction?

Imho- ‘clean beauty’ is responsible for things such as the mold on Patrick Ta’s eyeshadow palettes before they even get out of Sephora. Not all chemicals are bad but rather than going for educating their customers, brands bend to their uneducated will & give us poorly preserved products.

I love nude eyeshadow pallets. I'm extremely basic these days when it comes to eyeshadow. But, I find it difficult to find a pallet that has the warm and cool tones in the shades I like and this one is no different. And I know it'd be impossible for me to find the exact colors I like in one pallet so that's not a big deal really. For that price point with that size pallet, I'd expect the formula to be amazing! *Take a shot for Everytime I typed pallet 😂

I respect your choice and I'm not here to change your mind about this. However, I do find this statement ironic. The mere fact they have many things to buy tells us they're not solely "famous for doing nothing." They also became famous by marketing themselves. We can be annoyed by them or have other criticisms, but it doesn't really matter how someone becomes well known. They just did the "influencer" famous thing before that was a thing.

@linseylinsey I get it but initially they became famous for doing nothing but nothing and then started to cash in on it starting with the reality shows and to be completely transparent I've never watched reality TV and I don't follow influencers nor am I influenced by them in any way. I watch Robert because he's actually a professional makeup artist by skill and trade prior to being a KZbin creator. I'm not of the generation where I can be influenced by somebody who hasn't done anything substantial with their life. I'm outside of that generation and I don't follow social media or nor the trends but I will follow and watch somebody who is skilled and talented in their craft and the Kardashians are none of the above.

I think at a time when there are so many brands doing color cosmetics SO well at affordable price points, it's hard to support another celebrity brand, especially one that is on her third or fourth beauty brand, if it's less than stellar. There are extremely similar palettes from several brands that are all less than $50. Many less than $30. With SKKN, between the skincare and makeup, I really feel like one, she is trying to set herself apart from Kylie, and two also as more or a "luxury" brand based on the price points. She does SKIMS so well, it would make more sense to focus on that instead of continuing to create brand after brand.

B/c Kim 1st make-up & skin care was call KKW (Kim Kar-WEST) when She was Married to Kenya West & now there Divorced. She Legally had to shut dwn that brand, so kenye Couldn't get a cut. Thus is what she was worried about back when she 1st got married(it's literally on past seasons of their show)

I think Kim is a businessperson above all else, so the future of the makeup side of the brand is going to be purely based on whether it's a good business decision. I don't think most of the projects Kim is involved in are cash grabs, more that her passion *is* business and her involvement is tied directly to how a project performs as a business, if that makes sense🤷‍♀️

I feel like if she really wanted to give the people what they wanted, she would've done the same formulation and done the lip products that the people asked for without making a whole other brand and products.
