I feel like Jim Carey in the "Truman Show" when everyone around him was lying to him. Mark is the character that tells me the truth..... 10+ notes formulated into a 🍲 soup like blend in a lataffa bottle doesn't equal $1k!

Great content! These Middle Eastern brands are so strange to me, Nabeel which is the group that manufactures Durra also has Bahar and Ocean which both smell suspiciously close to Durra at wildly different price points.

Haven't smelled this, but the way you describe it reminded me of Eau d'Oud by Ajmal, which I have smelled and is a somewhat interesting mix of aquatics and oud. It retails for 235€ - I'll consider it if it ever comes to the grey market.
@Principemostprincipe18 күн бұрын
Not even close. Tried eau d oud week ago. Great fragrance, but it cant even tie shoelaces of Durra, they do have nothing in common
@GoranAbraxas18 күн бұрын
@Principemostprincipe well it was a shot in the dark based on "aquatics and oud". 🤷🏿♀️

Keep in mind that this is a 90 ml bottle so the price is essentially doubled. Regardless is it worth it at full retail…. Hell no!! But at the fragflex 5-something or jomashop 413, it boils down to 200 USD for 45ml which is the same as certain Kilians, Xerjoffs and Clive Christians. I tried Durra and I do think it’s a little loud and screechy - I prefer Aamal, Narjesi and Haibah over Baz, Durra, and Abjar. I also love the bottle and presentation and its for sure much higher quality than Lataffa bottles.

I sampled all Spirit of Dubai scents just last week in Dubai. Are they good? Yes! Are they worth the price, yeah no! They are rich and complex, however in the end they don't really differ from other similar scents that are priced way lower. If they would cut the price in half, then we would be talking. However I still bought Baz Cuir, because life is life! Many nice scents, like Fakhama, Abjar, Meydan, Majalis, Baz. However the price is too high, also I am really not sure about the longevity, they seemed surprisingly weak!

Are you gonna make a top worn fragrances in 2024 ?
@Mrgreen2520018 күн бұрын
Too much money in fragrance industry... every body want to make money. For example, in France, Dior Sauvage is sell around 150euros/100ml, but the juice inside cost 7euros, 12euros for the packaging and the rest for marketing. But they still make lot of money.
@GoranAbraxas18 күн бұрын
Your estimate is a bit too high for Dior Sauvage. Typically, a good niche brand will put a limit at about 300€ per kg of fragrance - let's say the concentration is at 20% oils, that means 50 bottles / 6€ oils per bottle (+ alcohol). EdT Sauvage has lesser concentration (probably 10%), and I srsly doubt they spent 300€ per kg of Sauvage formula - Though Ambroxan and Bergamot are not the cheapest materials, I don't see anything ludicrous that would raise the costs (there's no oud, no orris, etc). But on the whole the sentiment is spot on.

If I had that money to spend in a single perfume, I’d just go with a bottle of roja Diaghilev. That one I know for sure is a masterpiece. Cannot justify almost USD1k in a house and perfume that suspicious…
@arunashamal13 күн бұрын
lol.. Roja!! Why not buy a bottle of Mitsouko?
13 күн бұрын
@@arunashamalI have Mitsouko EDP and love it. What I mean is, if I “had to” spent that kind of money, I’d just buy another expensive one, Diaghilev, instead of the one from the video. (Mitsouko is way cheaper than Diaghilev)

Comments full of people who have never smelled anything of that brand. Durra is very unique arabian take on aquatic genre. There is nothing out there even similar to that fragrance. Is it overpriced? Absolutely. But there are also many overpriced brands. 1500$ for Frederic Malle - Dawn?😂😂 wont even comment that. Regarding disclosing 40+ notes, my friend is professional perfumer, done school in Grasse, he told me that he included 50+ notes in every creation.

If you have the money to piss away congratulations . No fragrance is worth over $300 . You show me some a Clive Christian scents I'll raise you the essence of Mr Chang 🫴🏽💦 . I'd ask whats the percentage of individuals who have the luxury to purchase fragrances 500 dollars plus ridiculous . It's like Tulip mania the perception becomes more real and the value comes from peoples willingness to purchase at inflated rates .
