I Bought A Coin Collection - Indian Head Cents and Wheat Cents

In this video, I will search through all the old small cents I recently purchased from my coin dealer. I was able to purchase an almost complete collection of Lincoln Wheat Cents (several albums worth), as well as a bag of mixed small cents that included Indian Head Cents, Steel Cents and even some key date coins! My Silver Dealer knows the things I like and said that a customer came in and just sold all of their coin collection to him. Since I usually purchase all the old silver and he knows I like copper too, he let me get it all! I will be looking for key dates, semi key dates, upgrades, and of course and varieties within the years I hunt. Hopefully you all enjoy this video! This video motivated me to get some old folders off a bookshelf in my office that belonged to a grandfather who died before I was old enough to meet them and work on completing dates that are empty. For the teens and 20s and early 30s I have quite a few I've just set aside in tubes while hunting through the 30K+ Wheaties I've gone through the past year during the lock-down stuff. Currently the 1909 to 1940 folder I am filling was printed in 1949. Thanks for another video.

The 3rd blue book, a lot of the coins have been cleaned. You can tell because they are worn, and yet shiny. They are toast. Many years ago coins were routinely cleaned before it was discovered to be damaging them. I think the mintage on the 1960 small date is 2 million.

I inherited a portion of my great grandpa's coin collection when I was 9. I mostly got lower value items like silver dimes and a common Morgan dollar, but one really cool thing I got was a 1940-1975 penny book with nothing but shiny uncirculated pennies filling every single slot. The only empty slot is for a 55 DDO

Consider putting paper in between the album pages, helps to see the coins and not through to the back side when there is nothing in the holes.... Btw the wood grain effect is from whizzing (cleaning)

Not really. When you buy collections is where everything is more guaranteed over coin roll hunting so if I bought a collection dump and found stuff like this I honestly wouldn't be surprised anymore. I've already experimented with purchased old jars etc. and I also notice the local sellers aren't very error savvy as they could be. Literally have gotten a 1960 D DDO penny etc. from a local antique store unknowingly. They had a 1863 Indian with two big cuds on the reverse. No one paid attention to the coin for weeks until I took a better look at it. $10 and that penny is probably worth several times more than that considering the mint run size and such.

The 1960 D DDO was actually in one of those " scalper " certificate of authenticity holders that people supposedly sell for too much and with low quality coins as they are said to do. Either I know what I'm doing.. or I seem to have incredible instincts with this line of passion.

With the right place those " scalper " holders on sale actually can possess some very valuable treasures. I usually buy something that looks great quality and why I still buy those " scalper " sets. Not only did I get a DDO already from one but it's also a mint state DDO and dare say it's at least MS 65 Red and probably at least MS 66 AND it's also with an RPM.

Nice buy, I have around 30 albums that are almost complete and a couple that are. I have two 09 S vdb's and one 22 no D weak reverse. I would have jumped at these sets if I had the opportunity. Amarillo coin show is coming up soon, hopefully I can buy some nice coins and albums.

Not bad on the '08S, very nice strike on 1922D, 1919 off center,... I like how you casually mention a 1914D! I'd say the 'part two' brown album was printed prior to 1968 as they did not seem to know that there would be 1968 through 1974 'S' mint Lincoln Cents. Only Philadelphia and Denver coins of those years have spaces marked.

Rad stuff, but honestly when would pulled the 14-d, I immediately thought this video was stagged. In my coin club, I've talked to many people, and we love coin roll hunting. I know I've personally searched probably 20-30k wheat cents over the years, and personally I've found 1 1914 s, 15s, and several better dates, but when, including myself, I've only heard of one other guy that found a key date hunting. He told me about in the 70s he found a 31s in ratty condition.i can't imagine any dealer would let a key date walk out of his shop in a plastic bag along with a bunch of common dates. I really hope I'm wrong, but from watching your videos, your luck is well above par. Congrats dude.
