Totally agree with your comment about this being a camera (phone) to carry in your pocket. Given the size and smartphone functions it is superb. I've glued a 67mm filter ring onto a plastic case and can use CPL or VND. The next PRO-I iteration will be wicked.

Amazing one, I also like using Xperia for different moods and situations. It's great having great photos with small sensors. Still, Sony could and users should contact with digital areas where it can improve a lot in regard to sharpness and noise reduction. It's best in good light among all other manufacturers, but low light and small sensors - that needs some magic. I like that magic... Good work!

Really interesting experiement. Kudos! I did something similar when doing a kind of "a day in the life of.." thing with three politicians a couple of years ago. However, I just used a very basic Google Pixel 3. The Experia's dedicated shutter button and these RAW-capabilities really seem to help. I am wondering - if you are going for a "deep focus look" - something like a Sony RX100 VII might be a more suitable choice. You get plenty of DOF but still more usability, a viefinder and the option to use flash.

Great points. I retired from weddings (for the most part) - but makes a great test for the phone/camera. I thought the iphone had glass lenses?

The way I understand it, the cover you can actually touch is glass. But that's basically just for protection and maybe some coatings. But the internal lens elements are molded plastic on almost all phones except for the Xperia Pro-I

Thank you, Jason, for this work, this is exactly the info I was searching for. I appreciate the details you got into, the zoom-in nighttime photos and all the rest that no one shared before. Can you use this phone to trigger external flashes, after all? Since I am an amateur with occasional assignments, I found tempting the photographic potential of this phone packed up in a tiny body, to replace my Sony a7iii+135GM+Sigma40mm1.4 combo. It is still tempting but it is awesome that you pointed out its limitations through a real-life test.

I really enjoyed this video and felt you really demonstrated the capabilities of the phone. Also, the results were great. I have thought for awhile that you could take professional portraits if you could control flash. Despite not being able to use the Godox controller, you still good results by understanding very well where it would perform well in natural light. The Stella light was clutch for the dance scenes!

I would love to hear more of your thoughts on the reflex s. I bought the set but ended up returning it as I felt like once I set up with the light modifier etc it wasn’t as “light” as I thought it would be. But it looks like you are just using one of the attached modifiers which keeps it much lighter. Do you have any videos with your thoughts on using it….so many other KZbin videos only show the edited photos not the SOOC photos which in the videos look really different from the finished photos. When you use a phone at a wedding, is the price still the same, or is it cheaper? Because, personally, I don’t like the results, even when the photos are edited. I think a wedding is a special occasion, and there should be photos of high quality.
@bunyaadi2 жыл бұрын
So in your opinion, is this worth buying into or should they just stick to the more simplistic operations of iphone, galaxy s? I have been considering whether it would worth it though a dedicated rx100 or rx10 would do the same job image quality wise. For the same cost range. I have a s21 ultra whilst it has big pixels when using pixel binning, it just can't beat the Sony in terms of clarity.

Yes definitely I'm interested to buy Xperia phones over point of shoot camera No squabble... Addition of Picture profile so important, hopefully SONY adds this on either in Xperia 1 iv or Xperia i2. One inch sensor, SD card, Mic Jack, Variable apature & 70-105mm lens will win it for SONY surely.

Not bad for a phone, but I think the images look terrible compared to a camera. It’s really missing the background blur. iPhones portrait mode is slow but can look very close to a real camera. I like shooting at f4 In portrait mode so it’s subtle but very realistic
@chinitopinoy17262 жыл бұрын
Same, I use the portrait mode on iPhone 13 Pro at around f4 to f8 so it looks more realistic. Portrait mode has really come a long way since the Iphone 7 Plus.

Although I am impressed at how well some of the pictures came out, as a wedding videographer, I would never allow someone to shoot with their phone on my team, especially on someone's wedding day. They're not your Guinea pigs bro and what would you have done if the pictures didn't turn out great? And I'm glad you brought up print resolution because I knew that would be the biggest issue cuz phone pics simply aren't designed for big prints.
