It was so interesting to see their mannerisms and facial expressions adjust to the language they were speaking. You can see how much time they’ve spent on learning the nuances of how the natives communicate non-verbally as well. So impressive!!

Even tho this time when I had to rely 100% on your subtitles (compared to Lindy's video where I understood your Spanish), I LOVE hearing you speak in another language. I hope you'll do more of these. And look at it this way: it's an opportunity to use a language you may not otherwise have much opportunity to practice.

I love this video! Appreciate it! I’m a PhD student at Japan but now temporarily studying in the US. My English is still awful. But this video encourages me to study more and more! 「言語があればhomeがある…」it’s very lovely word! Belongingは日本語だと「所属」といいますが、I think their nuance are a little bit different.

What is great about your Japanese is the tone/intonation. Yes, sometimes the words don't come out but the tone you guys have is quite like native and that is one of the most difficult things to acquire if you are self-teaching the language. I'm not sure if I'm making sense, but, kudos to you both!

Wow the feeling of belonging somewhere truly hits deep to my soul, truly is the reason for me to want to learn languages too. I don’t seek to be surrounded by many people but maybe just belong with very few quality people, maybe I have the wrong idea about belonging idk 😔 . You guys really vibe off each other, I hope you can collaborate again one day 🙏

I guess the question of "belonging" comes to every person who lived abroad for a while and/ or was committed to learn everything about another culture. I am still surprised when one of my coworkers disrupts my lunch break vocabulary study session with the question "Why do learn a(nother) language?". And I feel that they don't get me. At the last place I stayed we had a weekly "international language exchange meeting" in a pub. And there I found friends with the same mindset. The drawback is that there is a steady fluctuation in these kind of groups, because people who are interested in other languages and cultures are inclined to move more often to other places. Try to find (or form) a group like that at the place were you are now!
