The truly beautiful Judi Trott you are like a May morning. I was 30 when this iconic tv show first hit the tv. My daughter has loved this since she grew up with it.

OMG, this is my biggest teenage fascinanation back in the 80's... still when I hear the Clannad celtic music it makes my heart beat so fast...plus the Robin... he was my teanage dream... but everything about this show made me so intersted about the history of Europe in the first centuries after Christ... I feel so celtic even though coming from the heart of Europe... I am bohemian btw

I see some parallels to Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves (1991) in the costumes and the overall look. The studded Norman helmets (4:54, 11:35), costumes, the set pieces (castles and walls, 7:06) and the way it is shot. I'd say Kevin Reynolds, the director of Prince of Thieves, took a lot of inspiration from this. Not just in the character of Azeem who is quoted as being inspired by Nasir, but the overall look and feel of the TV production echoes in the movie of 1991. 9:36 Even Marian looks very similar to Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio sporting the same full, curly hair.

Like, I daresay she's kind of the best one. She's an active and equal part of the team, she's no more a damsel then the boys, and unlike the 2006 version (which...isn't as bad as some people say, but I'm not as fond of), she's just allowed to an action heroine without the need of secret disguises and restricting her with her femininity ever five minutes. Just kind of love that for her.
