I was homeless back in 2012 when I first heard this cover. I used to sing this shit to myself as I’d walk through the woods where I slept. Rarely had a tune ever scorched my soul to ash as this one did, at that specific time of my life. It was strangely beautiful in its melancholy. I live in a house now and have resolved all of that insane bullshit. But this song instantly takes me back to that time, not sure what to make of it now.
