"I don't know how much value I have in this universe, but I do know that I've made a few people happier than they would have been without me, and as long as I know that, I'm as rich as I ever need to be." - Robin Williams

Robin fascinated me (and continues to) because he was all at once hilariously funny, eccentric and deep. He was a deep thinker who could discuss anything, a very intelligent man... and yet retained a childlike wonder and appreciation of life. He was much more than a comic, he had a brilliant mind. Match that with lightening speed expression of thought and what a result!! We miss you Robin.

Isn't it sad that there are no words in the English language to describe how it feels to lose someone you love...or just know of like Robin. I have lost so many loved ones and people I admire that to this day, I have NEVER "gotten over them" which doesn't exist anyway....we don't ever "Get over anyone"........we are just forced to continue with our lives. My heart and soul goes out to all his fans, friends and family.

The man is brilliant. His gift is his spontaneity. The man is just a non-stop machine and has already outlived and will outlive most of today's comics. He's a good actor as well and always seems ot fidn the right roles. Amazing career.

It does always frustrate me when people mock and berate Michael. Of course, holding his baby Son over a balcony was an eccentric thing to do. But, he had him gripped, very tightly under the arm. I do believe it was made a bigger deal of than it should have been. But, at the end of the day, Robin's just making a joke. And a joke is a joke. Rest in peace to both Michael and Robin. Two very kind souls.

Agreed, Michael’s bodyguard Matt Fiddes was actually there when the “baby dangling scene” was being filmed, Matt said that Michael was actually tricked into being given a drug to supposedly “help him” 5 minutes before Martin Bashir filmed the incident and told Michael to do these crazy things, Michael was high on drugs when that dangling incident occurred, yet he was still made to apologise for it when he did nothing wrong. The whole thing is messed up really, the real person that put his child in danger that day was Bashir. ❤

Anyway Robin Williams was a comedian. Carte-Blanche Baby! freedom of speech! The freedom to poke fun at the king! No matter who it,she, they are. Society needs this. We need not to take ourselves too seriously. You stopper the release valve on a pressure cooker for too long? you get a very big bang. I know this :) I don't really enjoy it either. But I do accept the fact that a pressure cooker needs a release valve. It just does. Accept it. Roll with it. Hold those things dear that mean some thing to you, and "let that which does not matter truly slide"

It's only when someone is TRULY trying to hurt Michael (i.e. Tom Sneddon, Chandlers, Arvizos, etc.) is when I truly take offense. Robin is a comedian, it's his job to poke fun at people. So everyone at each other's throats on both sides of the spectrum needs to chill the hell out.

that voice at 1:25 is one he used in Mrs. Doubtfire when he was showcasing his talent to the social worker who asked him if he had any talents. He said,"I do voices." then did a bunch. I dont know why, but I remember that voice. I think it's a prospector cuz in the movie he say " I'm sittin on a gold mine!"

@ScarlettPluto If you knew anything about what happened you would know that he wasn't a complete stranger. He knew those kid's parents personally for a while had became part of their family unit. Kids liked to always hang around him and play at Neverland. And when you were a kid who enjoyed playing with a close friend and didn't want the day to end what did you want to do? Spend the night. He said it was okay. So before you judge somebody: Know your facts.

@narmolania stereotypes have become part of the pop culture lexicon, and are well established and generally understood. To me the difference racist jokes are jokes about things the people cannot change, skin colour, nose and lip sizes. Stereotypes are things that you can change, drunkness for the irish, laziness for the blacks, greediness for the Jews and so one, these are recycled towards the population of those group.

Besides, you may want to reconsider your accepted in Europe statement. If you lived in Russia, you would be looked down upon. The same goes for Germany. The UK and France generally are accepting, but are often blunt about a person's nationality or ethnicity. I was stationed in both England and Germany, and there are vast differences in treatment of people of african decent, but the US nowadays is way more accepting of skin color. But sometimes, it's hard to tell if black people accept "whitey".

I don't care if I get thumbs down for these posts- fans don't like to hear the truth. Look it up. It was so bad in the 80's, the Comedy Store used the light they flashed at the end of a performer's set to warn the comic onstage that Robin was in the audience & not to do new material. But you're right- Robin is VERY talented at getting people to laugh by repeating jokes stolen from other comedians.

I love Robin Williams but joking about a person I really admire with very insinuating humor isn't even that funny. Not everyone likes Michael Jackson for their own personal reasons and that's okay, but at this point in Michael Jackson's life, the media was hitting him hard all the time with stories and celebrities like Robin only added to the fire in a very unprofessional way. Now their both dead.. Robin killed himself and Michael died of a drug overdose. I think when things like this happen, we should be looking at the signs and treat each other with a little more understanding than insane judgements that only serve to destroy us in the end.

@ScorpionT80 For me, the exaggeration of the stereotype is exactly what made it funny..and I'm black also. Plus, there's always a biting small kernel of truth behind all of Robin W's comedy........and it's that however so small truthful kernal that makes people stop and think.....and makes them a bit uncomfortable. @Yoshi5020 Assuming his heart didn't go "Oh fuck this." and explode? You're looking at what he's like when was high. Just all the time, camera or not. Robin in the 80's was always on something. I think it really did mess him up hence why he can't pull it back and just goes on at random. If anyone else did that we call the police thinking he was crazy but he's funny so we think he's just being Robin.
