I tested Honaki: Star Rail's upcoming character Robin in the creator experience servers against Sparkle, Ruan Mei, and Bronya. Is she worth pulling?
IMPORTANT: Just a reminder that characters like Firefly, Jade, Fu Xuan are coming soon! Good luck!
For those that are on the edge, imo you don't need her if you have a couple of good harmony characters already (it's like having 3 god-tier sustain but only 2 teams, you'll just end up needing to bench one of them). But for those that don't have a one of these units: Bronya/Ruan Mei/Sparkle, she's basically god-tier value.

​@@HakazeJeybihonestly i do think robin is good or maybe slightly better than any existing harmony..her dmg increase buff on par with ruan mei, her attck buff higher than tingyun, crit dmg buff, plus she gives fua dmg buff for lightning lord..she also gives extra turn on her ult, making full stack on lightning lord easier..plus she deals considerable dmg on allies attck (with speedy jingyuan he can skill 2 times per rotation, his ult, lightning lord, the extra turn)

@@magoomania6278 thankyou for your thorough insight. i'm on a crossroads because I just started last march (Jing Yuan's Rerun). I was lucky enough to get JY and Hanabi along with their signature LC's but that was because there were enough jades to go through (new player perks). Now I've barely got enough for robin and im on a 50/50 due to Aventurine and his LC. I want to pull for robin but Fu Xuan's rerun is just around the corner which makes it hard in terms of managing my Jades. Im a low spender so the express and battle pass is all that I can afford. Not sure if it'll be enough for both Robin and Fu Xuan along with their signature LC's.

@@HakazeJeybi same, im also a battle pass and express spender only, but i play from day 1..star rail is kinda generous on free stellar jade, so 1 limited character per patch is possible..i advised not to go for lc though, since u r new and there are many good support/sustain characters to grab like ruan mei, fu xuan, huo huo, luocha, aventurine..for hyper dps, its a shame u go for jingyuan instead of acheron, jingliu or dhil..i would suggest u go for fu xuan for now since u need a good sustainer..u have hanabi, and for 2nd team harmony tingyun, pela will do just fine for now..

​@@littleraindrops3514it's not like more than 2 dps units are needed, as for the suports you need 2 per team, and many teams have different BiS supports, so only 4 meta supports are not enough. Every account has enough dps units, but no account has enough supports.

this is genuinely the best take i have seen on her pull value lol. I played her in the beta and knew that a lot of players would probably focus a lot on the fact that her ult has party-wide action advance and thus call her "broken" or a "must pull". but the reality of her energy cost makes this harder to abuse than the other action advance abilities we currently have, and she ends up just being as good or barely better than the top harmony supports. FuA team queen tho frfr

Yeah in most meta teamcomps sparkle is going to be largely better as her action advance is much more easily abused. The big thing about robin is she's the first support that's actually good for multiple DPS teams with her great teamwide buffs. It helps to open up options with teams like that.

Basically; If you have Sparkle and Ruan Mei: don't pull for her unless you really like her or you want to maximize Follow Up Attack team If you have Sparkle but not Ruan Mei: pull for her if you can. Not a must pull since Ruan Mei rerun is soon. If you hso not have Sparkle or Ruan Mei: 100% MUST PULL!

I got robin by accident, and I’m not too sure on whether I should feel happy or sad about it. On one hand I love her design, role in the story and her as a whole plus I’ve only had bronya,tingyun and sparkle as supports since the beginning. On the other hand I see the game heading to a more break effect meta, what with boot hill(spoilers and small leaks ahead, be warned) harmony MC and the leaks for firefly/sam. Ruan Mei would be a better option for those teams plus I don’t have any dot or fua units, other than the free Ratio. So I am a bit conflicted. Overall I would say I am happy to have another support but I just need to be lucky in the future to get firefly and Ruan Mei on their banners.

Robin do be putting the Harm in harmony and one thing that's worth mentioning is speed tuning if you use let's say sparkle Robin and blade in the same team and blade is one speed faster than sparkle you can do a blade enhanced basic , sparkle skill, blade enhanced basic, Robin ult, blade enhanced basic, sparkle skill, blade enhanced basic rotation giving blade a whooping 4 actions for relatively skill point cheap since unlike bronya Robin's advance forward comes from an ultimate and costs nothing unlike a bronya skill
