But I personally enjoy watching a flurry of game animations more, not just DoT damage numbers and then seeing monsters disintegrate within a second. That's less than a second of hype for me. Also, destruction characters can also do tons of damage too.

For what it’s worth, I’m not saying any playstyle are worse performing than the other, far from it. I think each playstyle has their place in the game. Also, all I said was that destruction does damage, that’s it. I don’t really care about doing the most burst damage in the game, I just care about animations, damage is just cherry on the top. Again, to each their own in terms of what people like.

It's the laziness on the animations for me tbh. I love followup attack teams and i'm working to round mine out (need robin and skipped topaz last time) but I think i'm gonna wait to see the Jade beta to decide first. Robin i'm getting 100% but then its between jade and topaz for me depending which is better for the team (i have jingyuan, aventurine, ratio - no himeko tho) I kinda hope Jade can replace Topaz in the team cause i like her design far better personally

Fr same, honestly i like the idea of a hunt character can act like a sp, buffer but her kit is really weird i said, like her damage is kinda mid although her being a hunt character, her buff is not that great to act as a second harmony, not many debuffs too, only if she was e1s1, and the final thing is she rely on another but it’s not the same for others, like dr.Ratio with pela literally the same par with dr.Ratio with Topaz while a hypercarry topaz may even lose against critka, i love topaz but her kit really weird and cringe tho 😔 but i guess I would still pull for her to complete my FUA team and a IPC team for lore too

​@@trungduyphan3269The only best thing about her is Numby's turn having action forward whenever an ally attacks the enemy with "proof of debt" debuff. Before, Topaz total damage contribution is not really good even if the enemy is weak on fire but since Ratio and Aventurine release, Topaz total damage contribution through Numby has dramatically increased because Aventurine and Ratio can attack outside their turn. I can say, Topaz is really good if paired with Ratio and Aventurine and she also enhances the damage of these two while these two enhance hers.

As a new F2P player, I have some perspective to offer. I’ve been active for just over a month, I run Acheron, Pela, Guinaifen, Gepard on team 1. I run Ratio, Aventurine, Serval, Asta on team two. Because Ratio is free, it makes absolute sense to invest in him as team two DPS as now I have to pull less characters. I’ve been torn on who to pull to flesh out my Ratio team and after watching so many videos and reading both character’s kits, I think the answer is actually pretty clear. The clear downside to the FUA team of Ratio, Topaz, Robin, Aventurine, is that Topaz doesn’t apply debuffs as consistently without investment past E0S0 which significantly impacts Ratio’s damage in my experience. The other weakness is that you have two hunt characters who are exclusively single target. If you’re a new player you have no Harmony characters unless you started during the sparkle banner or got lucky with Bronya. Robin is an easy to build harmony character who has fantastic F2P light cone options, her damage is very good especially for new players because of her crit ratios being static, her lack of need for speed (pun intended), and her desire to stack attack percent in everything except rope. For people who can’t relic farm and speed tune, like myself, because of TB level (61 in my case) getting optimal speed tuning and gear is a pipe dream. I’m still farming traces to get 8/8/8 on both of my teams. This adds value to Robin and her team wide boost because your party members are slow. Couple this with a ridiculous attack buff and passive crit damage increase and I think the winner is clear. I’m sad that I won’t be able to pull Topaz as she can proc Robin’s damage a lot however, the likelihood of her getting power crept is high especially when you have a character like Jade coming out who is Erudition. This could balance the weakness of Ratio and make for a well rounded team depending on her kit. This is why I am going to skip Topaz and go for Robin and why I would recommend to anyone in a similar position to me to do the same. If you have any other insight or rebuttals I’d be happy to hear them as I want to make the most optimal decisions I can on my journey to clear all content in the game. I read your whole comment and I have to say you are very knowledgeable for a new player. No one could have said it better. Yes Robin > Topaz, the latter is niche while the former is more universal (useable outside just fua team comps) which alone brings a lot of value, especially for a new player. For someone in a situation like yours, Robin should be the clear winner. I have nothing else to say altho you should swap out Serval for Pela as she can inflict debuffs for Ratio (2 debuffs at e4 and 3 with Resolution Shines lc) No need to consider this since you've started building a fua team, but for new players BE team with Boothill might worth investing into (since Harmony MC is free, the team may be more f2p than a fua comp)

(I have already commented this already but I'll change it a bit) I started this game since release and stopped at 1.1 and returned on sparkle banner and I'm f2p with 20000 jades right now and I'm aiming for my dream character Top🍑 and skip the rest to get Ruan Mei rerun and Jade for my dream team (3 IPC with Ruan Mei or Robin) and I'll wait for Robin rerun because I have Sparkle and Bronya already and I have to save my jades for my plan. My advice for f2p it's important to have plans and follow your dreams on this game because hsr is about drop a lot of characters soon!

For my account I kind of have 3 teams. 1) Firstly the DoT team with Kafka, Sampo (Ideally wanted Black Swan), Ruan Mei and any of the Sustains(Natasha, Lynx, Gallagher, Gepard and Aventurine) 2) Secondly I have a Dr Ratio team with Dr Ratio, Pela, Silver Wolf or any Harmony (Sparkle, Tingyun) and any of the Sustains(Natasha, Lynx, Gallagher, Gepard and Aventurine) most likely Aventurine or Gallagher 3) Last but not the least I have a Acheron Team with Acheron, Pela, Silver Wolf or Guinaifen and a sustain most likely Aventurine or Gallagher. So I think that getting Topaz and Numby for my Dr Ratio team would help me greatly and I really like follow-up playstyle. I feel like it is the best playstyle aside from Kafka DoT teams.

I have many reasons not to pull for Robin: 1. Already have Ruan Mei, Sparkle, and Bronya 2. Have an E0 Acheron currently paired with SW and Pela - she'll be stuck with nihility supports forever 3. Not planning to invest into FUA teams (I'm living the hypercarry life) I have one reason to pull for Robin: 1. My love for her As a light spender (I've bought two Express Supply Passes AKA 6000k jades) I'm in a very privileged position where I managed to win my first six 50/50s, and so still have 350 pulls at my disposal right now. My plan is E0 Robin -> E0/E1S1 Firefly (depending on luck) -> E0 Huohuo

I have a similar experience for my 2nd account. My 1st account is already stacked with Dot and hypercarry teams so I made a 2nd account dedicated to the Follow up team a month ago. So far, I already got Dr. Ratio, Clara and Aventurine. Currently at 50 tickets with pity 10 but rate off. The good thing is I haven't started most of the permanent event and Simulated Universe expansion mode but time is my major problem as I don't want to play this game 24/7 that later will make me felt burden.

A lot of people value Robin more because she can technically slot in more teams than the S1 but it is more expensive and imo it might be smarter to go S1 on Topaz simply because it's a rerun and we don't know how long it would take for the second one while Robin is new and will probably rerun fatser. That, and RM should have a banner next few patches. Then again I do like Robin more than RM lmao 😭 I guess I'll pull Topaz day 1 and see how it goes. I'm thinking I should spend some time with just s0 Topaz on a random LC and test with somebody's Robin to see if it's consistent enough with just S1 Aven. If it's good enough I'll try for Robin, if not I'll just settle with S1 Topaz and then throw whatever is left on Robin's banner hoping for an early. Doubt I can get everything I want but here's to hoping we both win every 50/50 😂

While I don't personally play fua teams I heard that jade is going to be fua centered as well like the rest of the ipc characters. Knowing this I don't think topaz is going to have a place in the meta and will be the first to be replaced in the ratio topaz robin aventurine comp. Most players likely have a low amount of pulls now still recovering from pulling on acheron banner (probably swan and sparkle too) so this patch seems like the best time to save with 2.3 looking like it is going to bring a lot more significant improvements over current destruction/fua units. If you already have the fua core and are just missing robin it is likely a different consideration but picking up both would require too many jades from top ups with only a questionable payoff. Outside of fua Robin seems worse than sparkle/rm.

The only scenario were jade would replace topaz is if she's an aoe debuffer (on top of a dps) and at that point Topaz could definetely lose value, but otherwise I think investing in Topaz is safe

Topaz IS the follow-up core 😭. She directly buffs follow up attacks and therefore synergizes with any FUA character that comes out, at least on a single target. If jade is a DPS follow up she would be competing with Ratio not topaz.

Yes go for Robin, Topaz will be stuck in Ratio teams for a while, but Robin can be used with any team comps nit just FUA. she'll be future-proof in a developing account. She's already close to Ruan Mei's tier which tells a lot.

But Robin can still be used to any character that you'll get in the future not just FUA characters. Topaz kit is good if other allies keep attacking the target with the "proof of debt" debuff so Numby can quickly have multiple turns to attack. Topaz's best team would be Ratio, Aventurine and Robin.

I love that HSR is trying to complete the meta while considering character's relationship to each other. I love when they have sinergy both in and off the battle. FUA Team is full of IPC (Topaz, Ratio, Jade, & Aventurine). They share the same play of style that is Follow Up Attack and sinergize with each other. Acheron Team is full of those that closely related to her. There's Welt who share story with her, there's MC whose she encounters multiple time, Black Swan who got interest on her, Aventurine who fight her recently. Jingliu Team is full of those that related to Luofu. Like Blade whose part of High Cloud Quintet with her, Tingyun who also comes from Luofu, Luocha who surprisingly is her companion. Seele Team that used to related to all the Belobog's especially Bronya. Eventho' some don't have connection, HSR keep releasing character that support the previous release. Sparkle solves DHIL's SP issue, Black Swan solves Kafka impermanent stacks, Robin enhance FUA damage issue, etc.

For collection purposes I'd rather get Jade in 2.3, so I'll sadly have to skip Robin, Boothill and Firefly. Personally, I think the future value of Topaz and Robin is not even comparable. Nobody debuffs FUA but at the end of the day her contributions to FUA compared to adding another harmony unit on that team just isn't enough and ultimately her value comes from adding her dmg, which unlike Robin, is not affected by the other dps' investment unlike Robin's contributions which are. And with the way Robin's kit works, the better your teams are and the more dmg they do the more value you will get out of the teamwide action advance and her ultimate buffs.

Robin&Topaz is a hard skip for me, even though I like them: I need Fu Xuan, Boothill looks awesome in the leaked videos and right after them, there is Firefly/Sam who is a must pull. Not to mention Jade… Sometimes you gotta skip (unless you are willing to PAY)

You can always get Ruan Mei on her rerun which is drawing near, she'll likely be a better support for Firefly because of break effect buff, break effect efficiency, and res pen. I say get Fu Xuan and Firefly then Ruan Mei, that's a whole synergistic team.

There's the 4* Hunt LC Final Victor from the Jade Feather shop that works mainly for Topaz. You can also get a free copy from finding all the origami birds in the Theme Park area of Penacony and another from finding the birds in The Reverie (Dreamscape). Though her signature is recommended for her if you are planning for the follow-up team, since it also applies a debuff for Ratio and boosts the team's follow-up damage.

I don't know if I'm very dumb, but (as a new player with just ratio, aventurine and himeko as his 5 stars) I'm very tempted to get e0s1 topaz for my dr ratio team. Ofc robin would be amazing BUT it'd just make the team a little bit too akward to play, because aventurine and ratio are both e0s0 and I'd rather use a 4 star support like pela instead and be more consistent with the damage. Also pulling for the light cone has the advantage that I have to win a 50/50 and a 75/25 instead of two 50/50s back to back lmao.

I would recommend Topaz over Robin ar E0 only if you have jades to spare for her lightcone, you like the character better or you don't care about meta at all.

E0S0 Topaz doesn't suck, it's more so Ratio's own restrictions want you have have more than 3 debuffs to max him out and for that you'd need either a debuffer at the 4th slot instead of a harmony or S1/E1 Topaz/ S1/E2 Aventurine. Any of those work to add one more debuff with S1 Topaz being a bit more consistent than S1 Aven since his FUA is a bounce. In essence, if they were to release a Ratio 2.0 but without the debuff restrictions Topaz would absolutely be absolutely amazing with them E0S0. It is kind of a bummer you need more investment in this team to make it optimal but it is what it is, I personally enjoy the way it plays much more than any other archetype so I want to invest. Go for whoever you like more and invest in what you like playing is my advice, Ratio can be played in hypercary teams too and Aventurine is pretty universal. Robin is also going to be easier to slot in than Topaz tho I'm not sure how she compares with RM when it comes to non FUA teams.

Dr. Ratio needs both debuffer and buffer which Ruan Mei already provides. E1S1 Topaz can consistently apply debuff on Dr. Ratio. But if you're going to pull for Jade, Robin might be more beneficial since Robin will likely buff any FUA units including Jade. Topaz and Jade might not have a great synergy together. I suggest holding off pulling for anyone yet for a few days and try to wait for Jade leaked kits. Then you'll be able to decide which one will be better support for Jade. Based from the leaked kit I read from Jade, She's like an Erudtion-Topaz wherein she buffs allies FUA and base on that deals FUA too, but she can also apply the same buff on herself making her a Carry. But again, my best advice for you is holding off wishing right away. Leaks will come hours or a day or two after the release.

Robin and Topaz both actually make FUA comps along with Dr. Ratio. Investment wide, Robin is higher as she is the only support that highly compatible with FUA. Regardless, if you have Dr. Ratio already (especially new player), you might not really need Topaz. But for those who want a complete FUA team, Topaz is a must. Dr. Ratio, Topaz, Robin, & Aventurine.

The only thing that I dislike about Topaz is her hunt class/single attack. If I pair her with Ratio, a support and a sustain, I have no way to effectively kill the mobs. Especially almost all Memory Chaos and Pure Faction have multiple bosses. If Mihoyo has a new mode with only one boss, I will 1000% pull her. No Topaz for me this time again. Jade here we go!

I’ve steeled myself to get Topaz after skipping her debut banner (didn’t want to skip her but was waiting for SW). Now that she’s back, I’m focused on getting her. Robin is really nice but i have a nice collection of support already so skipping her for now and might go get her later. For me I think Robin is a trap. I have e1s1 Ruan mei already. E1s1 aventurine. E0s1 Dr.ratio and e0s0 topaz. I think going for the light cone of topaz would be in the end more beneficial then getting e0s0 robin. Also I'm not garunteed on either so a 75/25 is a better chance.

Aventurine Ultimate debuff Dr Ratio A4 Trace debuff on skill Topaz Skill applies debuff so yes you can get the 3 minimum for Ratio to 100% follow up without more topaz investment its just more annoying because Ratios debuff needs effect hit rate to land E1S1 topaz is what really makes that team work but topaz falls off hard in that team when the enemy isnt weak to fire so thats 3 limited 5 stars into a character that can get benched for a Pela in those senarios as you can get both id get Robin first if you dont have a Ruan Mei

It's Robin. Acheron just powercreeped every dps in the game, that includes Topaz who's a dps/fua support. And judging by what I've seen from Boothill, the powercreep ain't stopping anytime soon. I'm a Topaz main btw. I pulled for her instead of Jingliu on her release so it doesn't matter to me how strong she is. Just being realistic here.

Topaz is that character like Kafka is for DoT Nihility. She increases the value of any FUA comp. Adventurine gets more stacks from Topaz, and Topaz triggers Ratio follow-ups. Using Robin in the team basically makes everything happen x2 every ultimate. Basically a FUA loop. Don’t want to use Robin myself tho since my Clara will become useless.

Maybe you could use Clara on a different team, since we need 2 teams anyway. Like: Clara - Linx - Tingyun - flex Linx increases Clara's aggro with skill (and provides sustain), Tingyun buffs Clara and helps recharging her ult and there's this extra slot you can fit someone else (another sustain/defensive unit If you feel like Linx is not enough -Aventurine, March 7th for even more aggro on Clara-) Just saying. In the end It's all up to you to choose what you think is gonna be more fun to use (:

no need to pull just follow your heart if you want robin then pull robin if you dont then dont pull. she is great and gonna be top harmony just like ruan mei, sparkle but for me personally i dont even have ruan mei and i can still clear MoC PF full star everytime. if you still struggle MoC PF then pull for robin then since she offer so much of really great value and topaz while really good for fua team but right now fua team that shine in pf doesn't need her anyway

As a Robin wanter and preacher, you're doing the right call. Having one of the best sustainer will surely help your account. I'm always inclined to support people in getting harmony units, but in your case, that isn't applicable. a great sustainer will likely be more beneficial for now. Fu Xuan will ease up harder contents for you like Simulated Universe:Swarm and Gold 'n' Gears, MOC. You can always get Robin on her rerun.,

Jinqou is a debuffer healer. If you don't have teams for him, then go for Robin. Base on the current trends, familiar people tend to have great synergy with each other like Seele and bronya, IPC team. So Robin most likely is going to be with Sunday. It would be too ironic if he's not with her in the team, he might go feral again. But this is just my speculations tho except for Jinqou who's kit is already leaked. Sunday is most likely going to be an Ice Erudition/Hunt/Nihility. I'm leaning towards hunt with FUA

Both will give value to your account especially since u like FuA team. However, you should go for Robin because she is already very good at E0S0. She is a huge bonus for FuA team and can also be played in other teams as long as the DPS scales with Atk. Topaz needs at least her E1 or S1, or she won't be able to give enough debuffs for Ratio so she is easily replaceable with any other debuffers/harmony.

Which one is better for a F2P? Last banners I got lucky and I got Aventurine and Jingliu, I also have Dr. Ratio in my current team, all E0. Which one (Topaz or Robin) is better at their E0 for me? I would say that since you don't have any 5 star Harmony go for Robin since it would help you in Team Building. And if possible buy Tingyun from the shop for your Jingliu team. Then you can build Jingliu, Pela, Tingyun and Abundance unit for sustain most likely Lynx.
