I find myself hitting replay, over and over again. Listening to his voice, Feeling like laughing at his joy, and crying at his sadness, all at the same time, Im unable to believe that he's actually gone, he shaped my life, and changed it in so many ways, making me forget all my troubles, if only for a moment. It changed me. I cant help but laugh along with him, staring at him smiling, I cant help but smile along, He was so special. The fact that he could have all this pain, but still make people laugh, just saddens me. He soared through the clouds, he spoke for freedom, he fought an impossible fight, he survived years in the jungle, and now, he's finally free. free from the pain, free from everything he's ever wanted to escape from. He's gone. But Peter Pan is still here. Genie is still here. The museum's president is still here. He left a legacy. Thank you, Robin Williams. Im going to miss you.

Robin Williams spirit was so high that his presence would put a smile on your face. I was born in the 1990's and grew up watching Bill Crystal, Jim Carey, Sinbad and many others like them but no comedy actor has made me laugh to the happiness of my heart more than Robin Williams.

I have cried every evening for 3 days for a man I never knew. This is unheard of. I just can't seem to accept it. I grew up in the 90s, he was our icon, our father figure, our go-to funny man. Why did this have to happen to such a beautiful soul. Depression you cruel bastard you have afflicted me since I was 10 and now you've stolen from us someone the whole world loved, yet you stopped him seeing that. Enough is enough.

I also just wrote to a FB friend in America when I sent this clip " I have never shed so many tears for a man I did not know and never met". He seems to have touched so many people around the world with his very being. I also cannot understand that at this moment (Aug. 16th 2014) there are 125 people who Disliked this post. I suppose trolls just can't help themselves. We love you Robin and thankyou.

In all honesty, I've never really cared all that much when a celebrity passes away. Before Monday, that sort of news didn't matter all that much, mainly because I had never known them personally. But Robin Williams? He was everybody's Mork, everybody's Jack, everybody's Peter Pan, everybody's Patch Adams, everybody's Mrs. Doubtfire, and of course everybody's Genie. The man shaped just about everybody's childhood in one way or another. We certainly 'never had a friend like him'. moderngreen, thank you for this tribute video.

Weird thing is I only watched Jack a few days before his death, and that speech touched me so much. Then I was watching NATM the night he died in my friends house, then I come home later to discover he died. The pain in my heart is real. Honestly, I usually don't acknowledge celebrity deaths that much, but Robin Williams death really bothered and upset me. I actually cried a lot. I tear up even seeing him in my social media feed, or watching something dedicated to him. His face and voice was always so comforting to me. I don't think I'll even be able to watch his movies the same way anymore. He was my favourite, such a great person overall. And to think a man that brought so much joy, happiness, laughter and comfort to people could have felt so depressed. Now all the young kids won't know of this amazing man and how great he made childhoods. Ugh. Heartfuckingbroken. R.I.P Robin Williams, you will forever live on in mine and many others hearts

I attempted suicide a year ago, and I got the help I needed and I'm doing better. Few people knew, and many of them didn't even care. Robin Williams was loved by millions of people world wide. He was not just an entertainer, he gave of himself to help others, put himself in harms way to entertain our troops and countless other acts of charity. I'm sure he would be the first to say he didn't deserve all the recognition he's gotten since his passing. The reality is many people adored him, and for good reason. I loved him and this has been a sad week for me. For those who don't think this is important, go elsewhere and also get yourself some help. Anyone that can say such cold and heartless things needs some sensitivity training. That is what's wrong with this planet to many good people killing themselves and heartless assholes exercising their total right to be assholes. There is just something sadly wrong with that.

I've never felt as sad about a celebrity passing, ever. It upsets me deeply because this man dedicated his life to making people's days a little brighter by his genius humour. I come back to this from time to time. I miss hearing his voice. Robin was such a huge part of my life growing up. His various roles really helped me laugh and grow as a kid into a young adult. When I was a little kid, I remember watching Robin Williams. I didn't know his name, or that he was even an actor. I'd hear his voice as Genie and then again in Hook and so many other movies. I didn't care what he was, I would tell my mom, "Mommy, that man makes me smile and I want to make other's smile like how he makes me," And, now that he's gone visibly, free from all his depression and pain, I spread as much happiness as I can to others. Even if it means that I'm not happy, I never want to see a friend without a smile, or even a stranger without a smile. So each day, I do my best to make sure that all I know and see are happy, because I want to make them smile, like how, he made me smile..

The year he died, my brother got cancer. I remember what he did when he paid for his own visit to visit a child at St. Jude's hospital. I remember him going there with a different tone than everyone else. Instead of going there in sadness, he went there with a smile, because unlike everyone else, he had the strength to smile at the face of death knowing that the person he was looking at was a person. He saw the opportunity to give that person the experience something that hadn't changed since her diagnosis with cancer, the gift of laughter. Robin Williams was and always will be my hero. Everytime I went to the hospital, I found a way to make my little brother laugh. Even on the day they told him he might not live (my birthday), I remained unchanged and strong. I kept my brother strong and I was the one thing that did not change in his life, and he loved it. Robin Williams is my hero.

To look at me, you wouldn't believe that I have had depression, and had this for 4 years right up to the point that I couldn't take it any longer. It started the day I came home from University and found my Dad dead in the living room. Almost immediately family members were telling me to be strong for my Mum. It's easy for them to say that, but none of them went through what I did. They also said to 'move on and put it to the back of your mind'. With depression there's only so much you can keep inside you until you can't hold it any longer. I'm much better now, yet I still get people asking why I look sad, when I am most definitely am happy. Only those who have gone through depression know what it feels like. Every family death since my Dad's in 2005 brings it all back.

Thank you for this post. I was at the same situation when my mother died years ago (cardiac arrest), and 4 months later my younger sister died in my arms from breast cancer. Those were the lowest moment for me. But the worst thing is I had to put up an 'ok' attitude so that my whole family could see that I was ok. I was not ok. It was a hard journey of healing with no one to talk to. I manage ok now, but sometimes when I think about those moments it's very hard not to break down. I hope you'll continue to be stronger as I hope everyone will too.

+MattMKZbin "A single thread in a tapestry, though its color brightly shines, can never know its purpose, in the pattern of the grand design". I believe that we cannot judge the worth and value of our own lives. Look to the lives of others, your friends. They are the ones that will remember, will laugh, and cry when you are gone. Sometimes, to be spectacular to someone else...all it takes is a kind word, or a smile....or a small deed. If you still need a legacy, a purpose...Why not make that it? Try to eliminate the darkness of our world, one kind motion at a time :)

From 900,000 views to 2.9mill, to 9.2million, 2nd highest viewed and highest Rated my heartfelt wish is as good as it can hope to get. To future generations who find this video, remember this man not for how he chose to end his story, but for the unexpected outcry he made. For the unexpected hole he opened in our hearts. For a person we never knew, or thought to think, we would miss this much if he left. Please, In the future, when the internet is a desolate and dessicated husk, when youtube becomes a shameful place where we once used to dwell and store our videos. Please everybody, make the effort to preserve this one little slice, of the man that we all loved and will always miss. Do this one little thing, so that in decades to come, we look back at this one slice, that showed him so perfectly, showed his meaning and depth and diversity into out lives so well. Because we'll always miss him. But this one memory, will remain. Sincerely, A Friend.

R.I.P. Robin Williams. You will be missed by everybody you helped and inspired. But now, you up there at the greatest party that only GOD can throw. You are up there with people who are just as inspirational as you are people like Richard Pryor, Bernie Mac, Michael Jackson, Prince, etc.

Such an AMAZING talent that he shared with the world. Can you imagine how many times he had to put on a brave face JUST to go out and entertain? One of the hardest things to do is to paint that smile on when your soul is so far away. THANK YOU-for all the laughs, your brilliance, your SOUL that you gave to us each time you entertained. You will be missed-may you Rest in peace and have your soul at rest.

Robin Williams was not just Aladdin the birdcage, he was a 60 year old kid full of good will. Hunting for Hook was just one of his adventures. He had no doubt, fire could destroy Captain Hook, so he rid of his insomnia and deconstructed that hairy villian. See Robin was a Jack of all trades. Even though He could neverland a punch on Bluto until he ate his spinach, He was always happy on his feet. He was a genuine “pop eye-con”. In 200 hundreds years when this world is ran by Artificial intelligence, we will still remember this funny unfortunately dead poet. Societies of all, were fans of this amazing entertainer. He is no longer trapped inside that wild and crazy game, and well, I can only hope that his dreams may have come as expected. Have a good morning in Vietnam, and a good night at the museum.

Just watched this again in 2023 and still get a bit emotional from it. RIP robbin Williams, it just shows that mental illness does not discriminate. We all need to look after our mental wellbeing and the mental wellbeing of others. It's OK not to be OK

Unless you have an incurable medical problem that's causing nothing but misery in ones life. In that case it's a permanent solution for a permanent problem and nothing to be ashamed of. It won't matter I guess on the count of being dead.

How sad that he was so disturbed that he couldn't see any other way out of it. He is no longer in pain but the world has lost a wonderful talent. Just glad he has left us with so many memories in his work. RIP Robin Thank you to whoever made this amazing tribute. x

It's amazing how much money is made off someone's death. People lost interest in Robin Williams and his tv show was cancelled. He dies, and they can't get enough of him. People are weird :(

I don't think people lost interest in Robin Williams. His show The Crazy Ones wasn't very funny. I think it was a good idea but the message and story line got lost and it just went downhill. But if he made another movie, I bet millions still would have gone to see it. I never thought his stand-up routines were particularly great, but I enjoyed his movies a lot. I never knew that he suffered from depression. I hope his death will help push people that are suffering toward help and maybe it will save many lives. RIP Mr. Williams.

I would have seen any movie, and I think mork is a fun character too. He suffered from bipolar btw. As clear in Good Morning Vietnam.
