This is my favorite song by him. The lyrics, the groove, everything. He was hurt on this song for sure!

"What if you felt like your whole life was a lie?" I felt like mine was. I felt I was lied to by All The Churches, government really the world. Marilyn is at least honest. This record is one of the best yet. He promotes individuality, art, fantasy. I agree so much. I love this song (all his music really). He makes you feel the pain and misery that he has went through writing The High End of Low. I cry every goddamn time I listen to this song.

[Verse 1] If you can hear this Don't assume that I'm talking to you Yesterday, everything I thought I believed in died But today is my birthday Today is my birthday I don't need you, I'll say it to myself It doesn't mean I won't need somebody Anyone with half a soul Will hear this and they'll never leave me [Pre-Chorus] If you don't know what forever feels like I'll show you what it feels like without it I'll show you what it feels like without it [Chorus] This time I won't hesitate To kill to protect what I believe in This time I won't hesitate To kill to protect what I believe in [Verse 2] I can get by now, I'm not really dead But I really needed someone to save me Leaving me alone to die Is worse than having the guts to kill me [Pre-Chorus] If you don't know what forever feels like I'll show you what it feels like without it I'll show you what it feels like without it [Chorus] This time I won't hesitate To kill to protect what I believe in This time I won't hesitate To kill to protect what I believe in [Outro] Not letting you win, won't satisfy me I'll teach you about loss Not letting you win, won't satisfy me I'll teach you about loss (If you don't know what forever feels like) Not letting you win, won't satisfy me (I'll show you what it feels like without it) I'll teach you about loss (Ooh, ooh) Not letting you win, won't satisfy me (I'll show you what it feels like without it) I'll teach you about loss (Ooh, ooh) Not letting you win, won't satisfy me (Ooh, ooh) I'll teach you about loss (Ooh, ooh) Not letting you win, won't satisfy me (Ooh, ooh) I'll teach you about loss

I love every album of Manson but my favourites are "EAT ME DRINK ME" and "The high end of low" these are beautiful albums and have a more deep vision of him, i don't know why they are to much underrated.
@AsylumStreetz6 жыл бұрын
I think it might be partly that some manson "fans" aren't really hearing the music. They just have an idea of him and as soon as he does the next new thing all of a sudden they think he's gone soft. Can't tell you how many people were upset that EMDM wasn't "heavy". But none of his albums are entirely heavy. It's rock n roll not heavy metal. It's just an idea people have of him that isn't based in anything he's actually done or said. Kinda moronic if you ask me.

My favourite is eat me drink me too I love everything especially those 2 you listed and born villain, everything’s amazing tho I mean every album he released it’s more him than a band now
@RJeFF76 жыл бұрын
I was going to try to answer this but Mince pretty much covered everything. And i can say it's not even rock n roll it's hard to label, maybe goth rock but i'd rather say Manson style. It's so funny some idiots accuse one of the most unique man on industry for being copycat and call his music as metal for beginners. His musical evolution is awesome it keeps changing but still has unique Manson touch. This man was always underrated even at late 90's and early 00's now it's even worse i hope this won't stop him.

@@RJeFF7 blessed comment thread. What would you call the genre manson has been working with the past few years in the 2010s? It's been so interesting watching his style of music evolve

I didn't follow Manson after Holy Wood which I loved, I am now catching up. I love this one, it reminds me of the two Coma songs. I just wish the newer album covers and videos were as strong as the 90s ones, as they absolutely are not. But glad I found a good song so far (still have to catch up. I did like Secrets Within)
