Robin, I am absorbing so much info from your videos, and your comment about one strokes really made sense. I remember trying to find videos years ago when I was doing nails and I didn’t know what paint they were using or brushes... or even what country they were in!!! In the children’s entertainment industry, face painting was needed in my area, and that’s just what I jumped on! I learned everything I could imagine about one stroke painting and tricks for speed painting wiggly kid faces and arms! ..... now, in Covid times, I don’t have a job. Over the last year, I’ve learned everything I can about the hundreds of nail products in the industry. I want to give my talent to people.... I want to share my art with everyone. Thank you, for also being an artist who wants to share their passion.

So beautiful. I want you to know you inspire me so much. I watch your videos everyday. I try to do 2 manis a week at least. My goal is to make one of them like one of your manis. I've been watching for 4 years now. I am disabled, I've always wanted to do nails, to be a free hand nail artist. I'm hoping one day soon that I could at least have ten to fifteen clients a month. But if I could I would like to do it 8 or more hrs a day. Thank you so much. You have taught me so much and your brushes are amazing too!!! I love you!! You are a very special person.

Doing nails is something I've always wanted to do. At 3 I wanted to be a "butishen" lol. Unfortunately, my parents wouldn't let me go to the high school here to start out my journey. Then my dreams of having any kind of life came crashing down when I got put on disability. I've tried to teach myself acrylics, but I'm messing up somewhere n need someone to help me. I have over 1,000 nail polishes, and because of you, a huge box of acrylic paint. I also have some of everything that has to do with nails like charms, decals, rhinestones, tips of all different styles n colors, pretty much anything you can think of lol I've been watching you for so many years. I'm in Vegas n wish you were still. I'd love to just to sit next to you everyday n learn lol. You help some of us in so many ways n more than you know. I am so thankful for all the time you spend actually teaching n showing us how to do different nail art. You definitely are the best I've ever seen. You can tell you do it with your heart n that's what it's really about. Thank you for the many years I've watched you n hopefully the many more years to come!❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💅😍

Girl, if i could paint your nails I would. I have a little confession......In 2009 I began to really think about what would happen if i lost my hand or eyes. I have no insurance or retirement in this industry, no time off or help if i get sick........ this industry i have served for 30 years is constructed to serve the most wicked of masters, BEAUTY....and the "beauty" at the top doesnt care. I had to find that out for myself...so I thought....hmmmm...maybe I will teach....i can give it to the next generation and earn a retirement.!!!....immediately, the industry found me, slashed me open and devoured the end result.....(which was creepy I have to say) and since then I have been trying to decide how i would keep teaching without being associated with that machine. And then I looked ...............and realized its all here!!!! right HERE...........i can share and pass this down. others will have it and we can be a part of it and have fun. you being beside me while i share is important to me and to the other girls who are just finding us. it seems as though the world is breaking down more and more and there is NO denying that THIS art brings women together in a positive way, creates a support system for those with similar trials and tribulations and is a place to relax and leave feeling beautiful....once i knew we had that community right here in this thread of words, i was calm and okay with everything......I have my hand and my eyes today, but tomorrow they will belong to a wonderful set of women I never would have known if we didnt all come here and share this together....so thank you........I felt I had to say that today and I dont know why........perhaps to say ......we rock just as we are and i am happy you are my friend today. *huge love* thank you doodle. :)

Hello! I understand and because i am teaching this so you can do this on clients, i understand how hard it is to do on yourself. if you practice on paper it does get easier. i can do my own nails but it takes a long time so dont be too hard on yourself. you have to learn somewhere and i cant begin to tell you how many of my designs looked like crap. hahahah look at 1/2 the videos i made the first year i started this. they are all unwatchable....we just learn and be gentle on ourselves as we go.....i want to see more so keep hashtagging me. i do see them eventually i think??? i go and look for sure!!!!! sending you love and patience and everything i need too! haha!!! xoxoxoxo

@robinmosesnailart6 жыл бұрын
okay........i THINK i have a video on it.. kzbin.info?o=U&video_id=QEbSumtmsMI but im working on a thin layer of acrylic.......so, if i have heaps of glitter, i can take a quick 100grit to the trouble areas and then wipe. i also use pure acetone, not polish remover. i find it makes it much cleaner and faster. :D:D i hope this helps

When you said this was for beginners, I immediately thought, "okay, Robin, this is crazy! This is definitely NOT for a beginner!". (Sunshine heard your voice and ran in to join me. However, she (and I) have had a hard day out and about. She fell asleep almost as soon as she hit the bed... it's past midnight and I came to bed at last, catching up on today's videos. But I know Sunshine wanted to watch her mostest favoritist person in all the world! 😂). 🐾🐾🐕😘💕👋

@@robinmosesnailart Sunshine has a way of brightening life! A few days ago we were in Hobby Lobby. She had just helped me out of my wheelchair and walked me into potty room....very necessary trip! 😱😂❣. While she was waiting for me to get settled back in the wheelchair, she made it more than abundantly clear that she was B.O.R.E.D! A lady and her son we're heading into the restroom when I stopped them and asked if they would mind doing me a favor...pet my dog and play with her for a minute or two. BIG SMILES ALL AROUND! I took Sunshine off duty and everyone had a few minutes of fun downtime. Sunshine definitely spread her magic! 😂. I'll give her a special "Robin pat" and treat, just from her Auntie Robin! @robinmosesnailart6 жыл бұрын
sure! you can add it however you like....because dazzledry dries so fast, i just add coats sometimes. because this dries so firm, so rigidly and stays so well, you can mix it however you like really....on a clear basecoat even....you might just have to add a layer of glitter instead! xoxoxoxo

Question? Where do you get your glitters from?
@robinmosesnailart6 жыл бұрын
HAHHAH omg Evette, boy do I have an answer.....hehehehe........OKAY.....I have glitters that I STILL use from 20 years ago...I was going to make a video on it because I say it a lot, but its true. If you buy something and keep it dry and safe and take care of it, it will last forever in nails&nailart................you can get glitter anywhere!!!! Its what YOU like, find it, play with it, make it work for YOU.... walmart has tons. michaels is limitless. the dollar store has holo glitter now and you can find TONS of colors....and collect specific colors at the holidays...Like right now I have lots of a beautiful green glitter I found after xmas. rite aid and other drugstores have it. beauty supply stores have it for cheapcheapcheap in closeout bins. I can find it at goodwill st. vincents and other thrift stores all of the time!!!!----- for 2.00 a bag!!! Sometimes the bags have 30 colors in it (the craft isles) I can find it on ebay for so cheap but it takes forever to ship out. I find it in the scrapbooking sections of websites or in the isles of department stores. I can pretty much find glitter anywhere and if you are super poor, they give samples of glitter at bareminerals counter at the mall, but only 3 per visit, but it is enough for lots of designs..... I will say this and say this............you will get some glitters that will go dull on you when you topcoat, but it happens less and less as the glitters are made of other compounds other than plastics......they hold their shine way better now so the only risk you are taking is when you buy old glitters but i say...TAKE THE RISK....I really got lucky a while back and found a 2 ounce container of pure gold holo glitter at goodwill for .99 cents!!! YES, I SCREAMED.......even now!!!!!.....I seriously must have pounds of glitter stuck in every shirt, towel and sock I own.....*laughing* .... Sometimes people notice if I am outside. They say: "You are sparkling!" (and its my day off....hahahahahaha) ....................so my answer is vast, but its free to share and for me it would be an injustice to all those struggling out there to name one glitter that costs 20.00 and is just a trend........ I would prefer if everyone bucks the trends to keep our supply cost lower and find the inner artist in you that doesnt have to depend on anyone to make beauty!!! Sending my love! To everyone else reading this, *love* :D

Girl, I have checked every craft store, every dollar store, every dollar tree, every walmart and, every store in and around my area, I cannot find that textile medium anywhere 😭, I have stopped ordering acrylic paints & supplies online because it's NEVER as described, never right color, never right product...so, any help locating this and weathered wood would be most appreciated! We have a hobby lobby opening soon in my area so, I hope they'll carry it 😭
@robinmosesnailart6 жыл бұрын
oh they will have it at the hobby lobby.....maybe yours is called something different....first, i have lots of mediums (mediums are what you add to acrylic paints to make them do different , magical , stuff :D ) mediums give you gloss, or pearl, or wood effects, or in textile mediums case ...........you add it to acrylic to paint on fabrics/jean jackets................... so.....textile means fabric. textile medium is the medium you add to acrylic to paint on fabric. my suggestion is to make a friend at hobby lobby and get a fabric medium and just know this all took me soooo long to learn and its kind of overwhelming but i didnt know where exactly to unroll all this stuff.......we can do it though!!!! tell me what you find!
@aprilhobbs256 жыл бұрын
@@robinmosesnailart I was looking in the wrong place they had it with fabric paints lol, but I did find it and, I now use it as a foil glue, to burnish glitter and loads other stuff! Works beautifully & it was like 1.50!

I can’t find textile medium!!! Is it just brand name folk art?
@robinmosesnailart5 жыл бұрын
Textile medium is in the craft section. Ask the store manager what you add yo paint to paint on denim. That is the stuff that is thin, white and dries tacky. It really helps with time management. But ueah, they change the label. Mediums are added to paint and textile is cloth. So its a paint additive for denim fabrics but works fabulous in nail projects. Xoxo please spread the word for me. These are tips.new artists arent getting and most techs quit their first year. Its a great thing to know. Good luck! I am sending you vibes to fond it on sale!

i have no idea. it was on facebook. this is the MAIN MAIN MAIN reason i have a channel............i fell in love with products and i learned their names and saved my money and did MY BEST for years as a nail tech and time and again things would disappear or become discontinued. i have learned to have a career around it all.......i have learned how to compile what i love without coveting any products and it saved my career a lot of times.....and i hope that it just passes on to everyone who watches with us....because its hard. we have to say goodbye to our favorites and stock up on things we cannot live without. its hard but true. so, hopefully this helps everyone reading......to count on YOURSELF and not a BRAND......that brands die but your job keeps going LOLOL!!!!!! *huge hug*
