Let me answer this in detail and pin it because it is a great question Queen. You CAN use polish for this but the entire time you are using polish it is drying out, skipping on the nail, getting thick and you have to add polish thinner, acetone and topcoat to keep everything even and not 10 coats thick.....but YES...it can be done. it is a technique just like everything else.....You can use full polish for this design and i would suggest a cap full of acetone to keep your brush clean and polish thin while you work on this design....HOWEVER......haha...and its a BIG however........It is cheaper....SO MUCH CHEAPER...so much faster, so much easier, cleaner and more fun with paint.....you can wipe each mistake off with alcohol and NEVER mess up your design you already made....you can take a color off you dont like without messing up your entire design....so if you starting out and you have no paints, you can try it with polish and really learn your craft using polish. You never know when you will need it in a pinch. it will NEVER hurt you to learn a new technique when you are doing nails and if someone takes your paint and you need to make a design, it isnt life or death. You can step up and do it no matter what happens......BUT also.......POLISH dries good brushes out FAST....if you are doing nail art with just polish, buy cheap brushes. Buy cheap brushes and lots of them because you throw a lot of them away after a month or so. My brushes are more expensive because they are the real deal and the hair is high quality and it will really dry them out....when you oil them it helps but then the bristles fall out because the oil gunks up the neck of your brush and its just a waste of money....but it isnt a waste of your time if you learn.......Now, let me give you an example......everyone in the shop uses gel. someone comes in wanting a full set but she ONLY wants a design done with POLISH ONLY.......You get the client. You get them and you can charge a bit more for the brushes you are going to ruin. So, you might make a life long client?.....So to answer your question.....yes...but there is a small price to pay and its way easier and comes out prettier with paints. :D *huge hugs* my love to you, Queen Bee :D

I laughed when I read your comment because it would have been a hundred times easier to paint it on my finger but I didn't want to stray from trying to show it from a nail tech perspective. That is super important to me because people in shops really improve their careers by doing hand painted nail art and for me to paint my own nails kind of is a betrayal? It's so weird and I'm a weirdo but I am glad that you liked it because it was fun to wear for 10 minutes LOL! Have a wonderful week!!!

grrrr...I went to answer a question and pushed delete and deleted someones question. Let me answer here and just say.......yeah, that finger/fake hand is *creepy. I dont like to use it but its better than using a stick.....Hand configuration and cuticle work are the hardest parts about nail art. Channels doing 'relaxation nail videos' do NOT represent nail art that lasts 2 to 4 weeks. Its so sad to me for the techs trying to learn watching those videos. I do my best to be TRUTHFUL before anything and "I will spill truth ALL OVER that creepy finger with a poor fitting nail before creating another perfect lie that sparkles." *YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THAT* *(reality: That creepy hand costs 168.00 and I didnt pay for it but if i did, i would be extreme upset)

Robin where can we find the glitter? Price is sometimes trumped by selection(for glitterholices like me).
@robinmosesnailart5 жыл бұрын
This glitter might be discontinued big surprise! It is the Wonder Woman glitter by Mac. You can also get a copper pigment by Mac that is extremely close. However, now you can get really really beautiful shiny copper pigments at eBay or Amazon very inexpensively. Any multichrome pigment can be used as well, just mix it with top coat! I love the Wonder Woman glitter and if you can go in with someone and share the bottle, it last forever. I bought mine probably about 7 years ago and shared it with three other women and I still have a ton left and I use it all of the time!

hmmmm.....The only thing I can think of....is that the consistency of thin polish and thick paints create illusions when you topcoat that are just beautiful........until you get used to combining these techniques you dont see it all the time and when you get used to it, you forget the 'why' but just just layer because its so cool......it really is magical what happens when you mix mediums and have fun with this......sometimes taking the polish off breaks my heart because some magic never happens twice! thank goodness cameras can capture lots more now. :D

@OmneyasWISH5 жыл бұрын
@@robinmosesnailart LMAO@ merhand-a!! It doesn't look easy either. To do something you just lay the hand down, not like a real hand that will stay in the air, while you grab a polish or spray and mix paint.
