I loveeeeeee the respect Rider and Gilgamesh had here. Like man, I genuinely feel this sense of validation when Gilgamesh complimented and even respected Iskander.

I loved that moment between Gilgamesh and Waver because Gilgamesh for as arrogant and egotistical as can be, due to his respect for Rider as another king, he acknowledged Waver's resolve and spared his life

Rider offering Gil an alliance is not about him getting along with him (he alrdy said he doesnt like him), its more about showing Alexander always resorting to peace, negotiation and assimilation instead of war and violence

RIP rider, also as much as a prick gilgamesh is, I just cant hate him, especially if you read the irl "epic of gilgamesh". Its literally the worlds first superhero story

At that time, I was impressed by the composition of modern students fascinated by the old king who was more than 2000 years ago.

Lancelot was famous in the original legends for occasionally going mad and killing people (something neglected in most movies, but captured nicely in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, oddly enough), so is a good fit for Berserker! In the end Arthur and Lancelot and Arthur's queen Guinevere were also caught in a love triangle (as both loved Guin) with Lance betraying Arthur. Not sure quite how that works in Fate with the gender swap for Saber's Arthur, but clearly some of that "back story" seems to have happened!

He's also known for crossing a bridge that was a giant sword... Ancient Britain stuff, I guess.

Hilarious that Monty Python of all things got that right about him lol

For maximum awkwardness and confusion, I suggest Prisma Ilya as the next Fate series to watch.😂

Most people talk about the honor that is having EA used on you and do not talk about how he used ENKIDU, the only memento of his best and only friend, to stop him, which was completely unnecessary and another massive show of respect, perhaps even greater than EA, since Enkidu is the only person Gilgamesh ever loved.

This. Ea is a powerful weapon, and Gilgamesh only uses it on those he deem worthy of it, but Enkidu is the one thing he treasures most of all. As his only friend and the one that turned his back on the gods that made him to help Gilgamesh, Enkidu is the singular thing Gilgamesh ever cared or loved. Also, Enkidu only worked here since Alexander has been mythologized to be son of Zeus, and thus seen as a demigod.

You would understand why Gil is like this if you check out Babylonia the people he was leading were strong, persevered
