If you happen to encounter the p.ai.nter in person (which is rare), it’ll basically give you an explanation as to why it’s trying to stop you! The lore of this game is really good, I definitely recommend looking into it more :)

It might seem scary to use the flashlights in the dark because of the squiddles, but they only attack if you shine it directly on them. A tip is to shine the light at the floor so you can still see, but not directly ahead so you hit one. The flash beacon is also helpful against them, but I won’t spoil why.

For some background, There are 3 intercom voices HQ, Sebastian, and P.ai.nter. HQ (27:32) is the voice you hear during certain events, i.e. door 0, before the big orange guy, and at the end of the game. Sebastian is the shop guy and the death screen guide, pretty self explanatory. and P.ai.nter (25:19) is one of the “antagonists” whose lore is built on once you met him face to face.

Screeching means pinkie and if the screaming comes closer you need to hide, or, a wall dwellar will spawn, making wet footsteps sound as it gets closer.
