This speedrun was completed without the use of gamepasses! ⏱ Speedrun Splits (If you're curious about how much time I spent completing each section, here are the approximate times!) Course 1: 2:12.99 Course 2: 3:41.53 Course 3: 5:32.48 Course 4: 8:13.27 Escape: 6:00.10 (or ~1:33 if you exclude the waiting time) (If you added these times up and didn't include the intermission / cutscene time, this would equate to a speedrun time of ~21:27 if I calculated it correctly) I definitely could have improved my time in a whole bunch of ways, but I am pretty satisfied with how it turned out! :)

If you are in a rush to get vegetables the rotation takes place in a specific order the bottom left is first vegetable and ot appears in the first room water. Like this second third and fourth vegetable will occur in their respective number.

It actually didn't take as many attempts to complete a full run as I thought it would. I failed a few speedruns before adding the speedrun splits onto the screen (not more than a dozen) but after I added the speedrun splits it only took about 8 tries, fortunately. I had already completed this challenge once beforehand but it was in a multiplayer server and I wanted to try completing it solo. Once Chapter 2 releases for the game, though, solo speedruns will probably become much more difficult...

The main strategy is to prepare ahead of time, but that can be done in a couple of different ways. One of the strategies that is specific to Course 4 is shown at 14:42 in the video, where I collect the Secret Ingredient but then I make sure to pull the lever to start the process of creating the next one, so that when I return next time, it'll already be ready to collect. Along with that, a strategy that applies to every Course would be to try to prioritize getting ingredients that are close to one another on the same trip so that you don't have to return to as many different rooms / don't have to cover as much distance each trip. For example, at 15:25, I go to the room with the fish to collect an Eel before going back to the kitchen. Since that's the only meal that required fish at the time, it made sense to go there so that the trip afterwards could focus on collecting ingredients from the center room (which was just Rice, in that case). That might not be the best example of that strategy, though; one that better showcases its effectiveness is at 5:23 in the video where I collected two Flounders since both dishes required that fish. Another strategy would be to try to collect ingredients that use different machines in the kitchen during each trip, when possible. So collecting Rice and Nori means that you can prepare both of those at the same time, whereas if you collected two bowls of Rice, you'd have to wait for the first one to finish cooking before placing the next one there. An exception to this would be if you placed the uncooked bowl onto the tray at the side so you could prepare something else during the time that the first bowl is cooking, but it all depends on the situation. One strategy that is probably more specific to speedrunning optimization would be to guess ahead what the next ingredient could be, like how I collected two Salmon at 3:33 in the video. It was a risky play that didn't immediately work during this speedrun, but it turned out to be a good decision still since Salmon appeared in the final new recipe of Course #2 (at 6:25 in the video), which allowed me to only have to collect one ingredient for the final trip of that course. Overall, these strategies work pretty well. As a testament to that, I played the brand new Survival Mode for the first time about an hour and a half ago, and on my first attempt, I became the 143rd player to survive for a full hour.
