the way rake runs is very funny/wierd

explaining og game's lore: there's a some kind of company doing illegal experiments with some guy named "Levi"(as DeliverCreations, who is a dev said his name) in the lead. It was going for superhuman creature, but in result the rake has been created, who have outbreached and killed everyone in secret lab(Possibly that sewer near shop is nothing else than secret lab). Later on, "SECTOR B" got contacted by some survivors, and they sent the first army of unit into the rake area. Dead bodies of first unit we can see in the game, scattered around locations. It is possibly that they have gotten into the rake's area with car near base camp, which explains its existance. After SECTOR B lost contact with last unit, they have sent a second row of unit to terminate the rake. Second row of units are the players, who arrived on the bus.

you actually CAN hear him you just need headphones at high volume while standing still and you will hear foot steps yes (reminder: not only rake can make foot steps but other players also can so it's random)
