Hey! Builder of Rainbow Friends CH2 map! Thanks for the criticism and kind words. I'm glad your opinion of the game has improved, everyone really worked hard on the second chapter. Of course there are many things I wish I had done differently... But alas, optimization came first. (I REALLY wish I could've included the fancy dirt texture I made....) By the way, some textures really are handpainted, (the castle walls and even the throne itself), I wanted to convey the idea that this is still an amusement park and not a real castle :)

honestly my first time playing the last chapter of book 1 was so funny. all my friends hid in the same locker together and called it a locker party. i was out there hauling ass trying to find the hearts while listening to them scream every time the monster walked by the locker(im pretty sure part of why they didnt wanna go out and get chased is because most of them had pretty bad arachnophobia)

Yea, rainbow friends def has actually improved alot. still not AS scary, but its a step-up from the mess that was chapter 1. at least it didn't go full "haha isn't it sooo bad? ahhaha look guys its soo funny" in an obnoxious way like Banban. Things you missed with doors: 1: A-90 (one of the rooms entites) isnt a rush clone, instead once it appears on your screen you have to stop moving otherwise it takes 90 damage. 2: If you go down the stairs in room 100 instead of up, theres a blue orb thing called the rift. Basically if you put a item in the rift it'll appear next round.

honestly? im glad rainbow friends is leaning into the goofy aspect of the story. i feel like a lot of recent mascot horrors are trying to take themselves too seriously with unnecessary and sometimes even forced feeling lore and over-the-top "scary" monster designs. most of the rainbow friends lore ive seen is so out of the way, you dont really even need to acknowledge it unless youre REALLY into crafting theories. plus, the monsters all look so goofy. they have googly eyes and stupidly lovable faces for gods sake. still upset about orange only being in the game for like 1 scene but thats because i genuinely love orange(i have a gecko irl who i need to hand feed so orange kind of reminded me of her. plus it makes silly noises. just a littol creachure all around)

I'd say rainbow friends is a good beginner 'horror game.' Like modern-day 'Grabbed by the Ghoulies' if you know what that one was lol. Just something easy for younger audiences to understand without belittling them, making them feel included. And so long as the devs keep improving with every new update (if they plan to release more,) I think it could come to be really enjoyed with its charm!

Rainbow Friends is less of a horror game to me and more of a stealth game. You’re less scared of the monsters and more of what might be around the corner. That’s what makes this game actually pretty good, it’s not trying to *be* scary anymore. It knows it can’t scare you so it’s not trying to and instead is giving you an area with enemies to avoid. The most dangerous are Cyan and Green since they can’t kill you in the box which is a bit sad since the others are idiots.

Honestly, Rainbow Friends CH2 turned out WAYY better than what literally everyone expected. Still not necessarily horror (far from it), but CH2 showed that its devs are self-aware of their own game (given the story), and can actually improve on some huge aspects that were not necessarily there in the first chapter! Still not the best, but it's a huge sigh of relief from OTHER games, and decided to go for the quality over quantity approach, which seems to be working really well! Also, Cyan is peak character design, nobody can change my mind. Amazing video as always!

Honestly, I'd view Rainbow Friends as the one horror game on Roblox that *genuinely* knows its audience. It's a great 'horror game' that's age appropriate for kids: Meaning it may not be scary to most adults, but it's perfect for the littles who want to feel included. And who knows! If the devs continue to improve, maybe it will win over the older half of the audience with its own little charm. Is it on the same level as Doors? No, but I don't think it has to be if they choose the right flavors.

Repetitive gameplay isn't automatically too bad as long as they execute it well enough in my opinion. However in the case of Mimic, I have to agree with Daggz on this one. Regardless of the structure, it's still you constantly avoiding said monster. The novelty and also the scare factor goes away quickly when you are constantly forced into an encounter with the enemy. Take subnautica (if you know that game) for an example. Sure, you eventually lose fear of the leviathans but that's how it is for every game. The important thing is keeping those interactions at minimal to make the experience as scary as possible. Making the monsters more of a scary obstacle rather than something you are capable of fighting against. In other words, horror games like the Mimic in particular needs gameplay that enforces terror rather than just horror. Other than that, It's cool when each storyline has a different structure but the mimic's true gameplay remains the same without enough additions or minor changes to truly set each segment apart.

As for your problem for the Mimic as in it feels as if it is the same objective over and over again, I agree. However, this problem was already thought about in the making of Chapter 2 Book 2, a chapter you didn't seem to play. As someone who has joined and played all the chapters and gamemodes and joined when the game was released, I can definitely say with confidence that Book 2 Chapter 2 was the absolute best piece of content they have put out so far. While there are some mazes with monsters in them, there are also tons of new minigames, puzzles, and other things that I won't spoil. Please, I just suggest you play that chapter and I would like you to give your opinions on it. Be prepared though, as it takes on average around 2 hours to complete, and you can't save your progress and come back another time. (This is also something they should really consider doing, as it is so annoying.)

I think that’s the point tho gang. Everyone is in agreement book 1 is MASSIVELY really bad, it’s just confusing and feels like they randomly placed Japanese culture without any care for it making sense or fitting. Furthermore, you’re doing the same shit over and over, it isn’t scary, and the final part is the worst thing I’ve seen. They couldn’t program a proper fight. There shouldn’t even be a dark souls fight. However, book 2 improved and tackled ALL of these issues. I’m surprised they even still let people play book 1. I have almost no issues with book 2 besides the voice acting made it not so scary at times.

Rainbow Friends actually has me interested to see what they’ll do in later chapters after playing chapter 2. Cyan especially I absolutely love from her noises she makes, her design being funny (I think the mouth is actually kinda cool) while hinting to her t-rex like mechanic, and her mechanic being a major counter to the normally easy-win of just walking around in a box. Genuinely can’t wait for chapter 3.

In my opinion, Rainbow Friends was designed for single-player but allows for multiplayer. If the game added more props for more players, that might fix it. Or limiting how many items you can hold depending on how many players there are. Currently, it’s too easy to simply hide while everybody else does the work for you.

When i first played rainbow friends chapter 2, i was generally surprised by three things; the animiation, the map, and cyan (aka the only smart monster) everything else was impressive to, and i was in a rush during the timed event because Everyone else died and i could only pick up one lookie at a time, causing a lot of panic. Are there flaws? Yes, but the game is working hard to correct them, so i respect the devs. Also small little detail, the old guy is the same guy as the grandpa from Spider, so thats cool. Wonder if it affects the lore

Some minor details missed in relation to DOORS: (a) Super Hard Mode contained a few extra things not mentioned, banana peels on the ground that trip you and deal a small amount of damage (they can actually kill you), potions that give you extra health through a second bar that shows up above the regular one, bob (the skeleton) kills you if you interact with him, the room you spawn contains a fake key that kills you when interacted with. (b) The entity A-90 is NOT a Rush clone, he appears on your screen and you have a very short amount of time to stop moving or he takes nearly all of your health. (c) A new mechanic was added, “The Rift”, at door 100 going DOWN the stairs will lead you to the Rift, where you can store a single item for use in your next run. (d) One of the main reasons the last 10 doors are so difficult, is that there are no lights, you have to rely on sounds cues to tell when Rush is on its way. (e) Door 60 is where The Rooms are found, you need only 2 lockpicks to unlock the door, however there are some extra steps that were inconveniently left out, the room usually after door 60 is always dark, and always has a basement much larger than what you would normally find, the room is called The Large Basement (because it is the only room with a basement of that size) and the lever that opens the gate to the next door, opens a gate blocking the entrance to The Rooms. (f) You don’t actually need to get to A-1000 in The Rooms, an exit can appear as early as A-200 and will constantly appear afterwards, if you decide not to take it the first time. The only reason to clear all 1000 rooms is for the night vision.

As a mimic player, the mimic is a little replayable like you either carry your friends or you wanna try to get a lantern. I have almost all lanterns except Shiniachi 2021, Nightmare Kishin, and Zuboshi Lantern. Obviously, they’re improving on their replayability as Mimic wasn’t designed to be really replayable lol. Thats where Yokai comes in.

For the game modes for the mimic, The modes are older ones that weren’t revamped besides the Nightmare Circus that was released last Halloween, and the Witch Trials are apart of the lore of Book I, but it wasn’t revamped like I said unlike Book I.

Top 5 Roblox horror games for me: 1: The Mimic (Characters, + pretty deep lore, that is being revamped as we speak, and Book 2 having FAR better mechanics then book 1, + quality, and don't get me started on the OST's, it isn't perfect though.) 2; Apeirophobia (super unique mechanics, and the quality and monster designs are good, although was level 11 being a parkour part REALLY necessary?) 3: Frigid Dusk (quality is VERY good, also unique, but... the camping... the monster can straight up camp you, and the jumpscares aren't the best, but overall, VERY good game) 4: Doors (Unique, but repetitive. Horribly. Repetitive, i understand thats the point of it, but i find it... not bad. Just.. boring. 5: Rainbow Friends (it's mostly here because funni haha filler, but, its decent for its age group, haven't played C2 yet tho. I like the mimic and apeirophobia. 1. OSTS are pretty good and I do agree The Mimic is perfect and has flaws. Lore’s pretty good and I do agree Book 2 is better than Book 1. 2. I disliked the parkour part as well and I’m quite hyped for chapter 2 lol. 3. I played like the first part of chapter 1. Eventually all the randoms left me and I was by myself doing some sort of complex puzzle I didn’t understand in part two so I left. 4. It’s good and unique than other horror games following the chapters format but once you get all the badges, it quickly becomes repetitive and useless to play more unless you want knobs for a future update to release. It’s good but people over exaggerate about it. 5. Its a decent horror game for like 5-9 year olds and I played chapter 2 btw. Both of the new characters are pretty unique and you can use one of them as a transport to escape the monsters cus u dont die immediately. 6. Judy and Trespass are good horror games that I wish were more popular.

(This is for Mimic) Antagonists: about equal tbh (Futaomote and Enzukai are AROUND equal for me, nah Futaomote is better imo, due to her having a fleshed out character, although Enzukai is still good) MC: this... shouldn't be a debate. Yasu was a horrible MC, and a horrible character, Isamu was, and still is a breath of freash air, now if only he didn't go permanent mute during 99.9% of B2 C1. Mechanics: again, B2 takes this one. No need to give any reasons. Lore: Book 1, purely because Book 2 is still being worked on. Cutscenes/Boss-fight: Book 2. All the way. (Did this since i was bored, also i will try the tresspasser game you're talking about when i can)

To be honest, rainbow friends is a developing horror game piggy was a developing game and look where it turned out. Maybe we should cut some slack on the people who are making these horror games to the fact that they have to work on a game for the whole entire world to play and they would have to make something interesting for the people that are playing it. That’s why I say give the creators some slack because if I were to create a game, it would just be a item and a monster and I would just put a copy of my Roblox avatar and just put modifications on it and that would be it. Deepwoken is the only game that Metallica actually chose well in considering the fact it's the closest thing on Roblox with a simple non-intrusive event where these doors would be around most major civilizations and you just had to chill in a mosh pit for 5 minutes without getting knocked out and could listen to Metallica the whole time Deepwoken isn't really a bad game and is something I'd recommend if you can get past the beginning learning curve

Scotomaphobia is another fantastic roblox game that focuses much more on the lore than other roblox games do while still including a bunch of fun challenging puzzles. I do feel like Piggy became less of a horror game later on, but there is one place Piggy really shines at it, actually, a few. I'll go over those bc I have nothing better to do 1: The Skins, There are a few skins I wanna talk about, the first of which is Spidella Spidella isn't particularly a scary skin, but this skin does well in utilizing peoplle's legitimate fears of spiders, I mean, you enter a temple and this fat spider starts charging at you? People with arachnophobia never playing Temple on Bot, never. Next up is the TIO Skin (???), The skin isn't scary once you get used to it, but Doors is hardly scary after playing for a few months, or even a week or two. Look at that monstrosity, it's a giant no-legged demon crawling at you, new people who've never seen that before never coming back to this game that's for sure. Finally is the Laura skin, This one is the only actually creepy one, and I suggest looking at it, Laura is a lemur with a teddy bear, but its done as a sort of combination of Rainbow Friends and Doors Seek, it looks like a happy-go-lucky monster but it's got black goo coming from its eyes with no pupils, its bear also has glowing white eyes, she also has a knife, this skin is also very silent, and has.. Weird themes, adding to the eeriness, it's not AS scary as other things, but I still feel the Piggy Skins deserve SOME credit for horror since there are scary or creepy ones out there. 2: The real aim of the game Piggy was intended to be a horror game, but it really isn't. Piggy has evolved into becoming more focused on the story of the characters as you progress to save your friends or unlock more past of the characters in some cases. When the mysterious demon known as TIO shows up he's only there as a plot device to make you know the characters, you never have to encounter TIO to beat the game. 3: Where horror really is in Piggy Last time you glanced over one thing in Piggy, and its where horror is ACTUALLY intended, if you go into Book 2 you will see a chapter called 'Breakout', this is a permanent character-focused chapter in Piggy Book 2, and it's not your traditional: Dodge piggy easily, escape. No, it's not like that. You are surprised by a sudden fall and you are immediately jumpscared by a demonic cat called Ombra, it doesn't kill you but it scared the life out of people like Kreekcraft. You are locked into first person mode with a flashlight, and you have to avoid Ombra's pursuit, but here's the kicker. You never know where Ombra is, meaning you can turn the corner and Ombra is right there, and you can't check, but you could walk into a random room and get ambushed because Ombra jumped of the damn ceiling, not even tryna be funny, Ombra climbs the ceiling. One other thing to talk about, that being Mansion. You commit breaking and entering by going into some 90 year old elephant's house, man even has a damn walking stick and is accused of turning people into toys. I'm pretty sure that was for comedy, it's literally useless plot and horror wise. Piggy is the scary part, not as scary as in Breakout, but not someone to trifle with. Duocara, which is a patrolling AI that will spot you and immedately play some wooden cogs and cool music and hunt you down at lightning speed, Duocara is the fastest bot in Piggy, but it has a flaw. It's face changes, from Happy to Sad. You get this skin by beating the Map, but only on Bot, same as Breakout. If Duocara is happy, you turn away, and it will stop. If it is sad, it's much deadlier, it will need you constantly looking at it, meaning that if you are pinned and its happy, you're dead by this sad man. His cheeks are also.. Creepy. None of these things are remotely scary, but I feel like Piggy deserved more attention since none of this was discussed in the previous video, tho Book 1 isn't scary, all ur points count there, fair. Also, about Metallica? Uhm, I have nothing to say, that was really random, but it was fun to play.

The Mimic is getting a DBD inspired spinoff called "Yokai" It might not come out for a while though, since the devs are prioritizing the main game as of now. (Side note: The gameplay quality in Chapter One and all of the trials (Except for Nightmare Circus, I guess the devs just didn't have any ideas) is older, so it makes sense it would be less authentic. I hate The Halloween Trials and The Witch Trials with a burning passion, even as a more avid fan of the game.)

@@Violight9 Phase 2 is really annoying and long, especially when you’re playing with people who don’t know what they’re doing. Phase 3 is just phase 2 with a different layout and less candles/pumpkins you need to light. It’s really boring and doesn’t really feel like a final phase. And phase 1 is arguably the worst part. The map is tiny and cramped with a fast monster that has a giant hitbox that can spot you from really far away. Not to mention the only safe zone in the entire map is in the center. (Krampus and Nagemi have the worst hitboxes)

Honestly I am weirdly mixed with Rainbow friends chapter 2. Like you said, the design of the place Is much better but the game itself is still pretty eh.. Blue and green are pretty much the same (Blue does seem a bit faster but that's about It) and they still share the issue of the box dealing with them easily; then we have purple which has it's on little section, which is neat but nothing special, then we have Yellow which in theory Is pretty cool but in practice it's just Blue but if you get caught you get this little minigame that gives you an extra chance to survive, lastly there's cyan which could have worked if She could see truh the box but instead you just gotta stand still when she's near and your fine. So, to quickly compare we have: Rainbow Friends chapter 1: Which has 2 characters that can be fooled by the box, one blind character (which from my understanding you can just walkthroug, if you have your box equipped) and lastly we have purple for which you gotta be careful about the vents. On the contrary we have 2 returning characters; purple, which now patrols it's own special room; Yellow, which Is Just easier Blue and lastly we have cyan which is blue but you gotta wait for her to move out of the way. The game doesn't seem to be much better in gameplay.

Roblox has a lot of great horror/adventure games with horror aspects, the only issue is that many of them are left either in small closed communities or left to rot becaouse they didn't get much attention. I did have few of these games but unfortunately many of them closed down.

I do want to say what is nice abt the Mimic is they actually want you to finish the experience by letting you infinite deaths (for main story). Which is something I always find frustrating playing other games especially when I play w/ a....not so experienced roblox player who might die a fair amount of times in Doors or Rainbowfriends and we'll have to end up restarting many times to the point where it's no longer fun for the friend I want to play roblox w/. And this is kinda a problem w/ a lot of "mass lobby horror games" that Camping started where they're not very noob friendly which is probably supposed to deter the little kids (idk why they would want to do that) but for older audience they'll just get frustrated and not bother replaying from the beginning especially w/ Roblox's reputation as a kid's game
