The Robocop remake turns 10 today!!! They were on the right track in the first half even getting the design of the suit But I hated that they made the suit black taking away the iconic look I’ll admit; The action is awesome and I love this cast, there's also great political commentary about us relying on machines to do our jobs, the lack of faith in law enforcement, and being so robophobic No prejudice, no anger, no fatigue is what machines do best as opposed to humans but less violence and more safety is a hot debate This also manages to skewer American jingoism and right-wing news organizations to manipulative powers of public relations asking good questions This remake is fun but lacks the satirical edge Veerhoeven established and the PG-13 rating takes away from the fun excessive violence This did try something else but overall it feels very standard and director José Padhila admitted he wasn’t too happy with the filmmaking process saying it put him through hell in the industry Made $243 million with a middling reception from fans and critics Nostalgia Critic felt the scenes with Alex and his family are boring, no rush of emotions from Joel Kinnamen, the costume is bland and forgettable, the commentary was weak, and there could be more creative cooperation But he likes the crime fighting scenes, he likes the supporting cast, and it would work better as a video game if it had bigger ideas

The issue was that it was bland, which in a sense, is a worse crime than making a terrible remake. One of the biggest problems was that they failed to portray "Detroit" as such a crime ridden city that they would need such a step up in police force. If anything, the city looked nice (probably because it was actually Vancouver).

Korey and Martin need to re-watch Robocop 2 if they think this remake was better. When it comes to satire and dark humor, 2 has a few moments where it outdoes the first one (e.g. the failed Robocop 2 prototypes demonstration).

The remake was very poor guys. I mean c'mon it had some cool scenes with Gary Oldman, but a pg13 emo Robocop running about with a tazer is not really ROBOCOP. The televison series was more hardcore than this shit.

***** What was better in this film than the original. Just the actor who played RoboCop? The original is a classic film. With brutal violence and that was something that it strived off of. And with a PG-13 RoboCop you can't add that much violence which was the point of the original. The writers of the original even said they just wanted to make a ridiculous gory brutal action movie with a bit of satire. And it was bad ass. I respect your opinion but I'm just saying that you shouldn't just say its a better movie than the original just because you like the new RoboCop.
