This movie would have worked better as a sequel to the originals, serving as a handoff to a new cyborg as a part of a resurrected RoboCop program.

The only good aspect of this movie was the relationship between the Dr., and Murphy. It's a dynamic the original film lacked. Both actors did a good job. The villians and action was vastly superior in the original.

This move actually invalidates the whole original idea of putting human brains into robot body. The only reason they did it, is to overcome the regulations. Instead of showing human resolve and ability to uphold justice, this movie displays human brain as the weak link in the system. The original Robocop got his sense of justice and cop's hunch from Alex Murphy. The 2014 version got psychosis and clouded decisions. What we got this time is not a perfect law enforcement machine led by compassionate and fair heart, but a man who uses his newly acquired powers for personal revenge, and the morals of this is also highly questionable.
