The first two news segments actually go together brilliantly, IMO. Like you have the segment that's all like "NUCLEAR WAR IN SOUTH AFRICA", then they transition to a puff piece about a silly incident aboard the 'Star Wars' SDI space station... which is noticeably failing to prevent the nuclear confrontation mentioned in the first piece, like SDI was (allegedly) supposed to do. Very clever!

In the US it wasn't common in the eighties now it's everywhere with police. Well, maybe except the Czech Republic I vacationed there once and they weren't wearing body armour.
