How can anyone ever forget one of the greatest movies ever made, ROBOCOP?
@raulezuleta66297 жыл бұрын
Loved this episode.... however, Ronnie Cox played Senior Vice President (not CEO) of OCP; the CEO was played by Dan O'Harily (aka. The Old Man)

Robocop 2 gets a lot of hate when it was actually a pretty decent follow up. Robocop 3... meh. I remember being a teenager and finding out it was going to be a 12 certificate, that joy that I would be able to see it in the cinema together with the knowledge that it was going to be awful because of the certificate.

Robocop (1987) is rated 4 stars on allmovie and it deserves 5 stars all the way. Robocop 2 is underrated too. Not as good as the original but a decent film. Robocop 3, without Peter Weller and Nancy Allen's character shot dead, it is simply not a Robocop movie.
@KyleDevy4 жыл бұрын
This video isn't entirely accurate. Frank miller wrote robocop 2 but once a new director took control they were re writes and re shoots. They were actually 2 live action tv series, one being called robocop and the later one being a mini series called robocop prime directives. They were also two animated series. And finally Ronnie Cox played the vice president not the CEO.

Robocop 2 is a criminally underrated sequel. It is satire of sequels as much as the first film is a satire of Reagan’s America. Robocop 2 is compete with trailers inside the film, the sequel product being bigger and badder than the first product, and the first product being taken over by special interests groups for a mass appeal. Great sequel. Just as violent and vulgar as the first film.
@ghosthunterfallout5 жыл бұрын
Agreed, they should have literally used the same musical scores from the first film, I believe that is what disconnected it from the first film and made it less popular.

7:54 Ronny Cox's character Of "Jones" was NOT the C.E.O. The roll of the C.E.O. went to Dan O'Herlihy's character of "The Old Man". That's why Robocop shoots Jones out of the window when the Old Man tells Jones that he was fired.

How is the BoB Morton character not a villain? He readily admits at the end of the first office scene that he sent all the best candidates to be Robocop to the must dangerous district hoping one would get killed. Bob Morton was, like the chief says to Louis, an a$$hole. Paul says on the commentary on my DVD he wishes he took that line out, but as a kid and still today I love that line, because it's true.

Robocop is in my top 5 favorite movies. But it did steal the ‘pull the guy through the wall and toss him out the window’ scene from The Vindicator, another cyborg sci-fi flick that was release a year earlier. Scene for scene stolen. I saw the Vindicator as a kid and I liked it but it’s no Robocop.

Robocop 2 had potential. Just wasn't executed as well as it could have been. It had OCP being big old corporate manipulators over government. @rbrtck6 жыл бұрын
+HoldenNY22 Yeah, but these days the "left wing" ironically leans strongly toward government being the social instrument for solving every societal problem, and ultimately that leads to authoritarianism. And just as ironically, perhaps, the "right wing" is now the more anti-establishment of the two, at least in the context of government control. At least I think we can all agree that the portrayal of corporate America in the movie is hilarious.
