Note : " It says zero mega ohms " , actually it says "OL" = open loop. Zero mega ohms means a short which it was not .

Should the guide wire also be disconnected from the base station?

Yes, always remove all wires from the charging station when testing them.

Rabbits cause more than just wire issues for robot mowers. Robots are not good at navigating through rabbit holes either. :)
