It's funny to think Kronic the Wedgehog is the start... ... of Apollo's lineage. (for those unaware - the team who built Apollo also bought Kronic 3 and that bot had a successor on Battlebots called Chronic - who inspired the design of Apollo who was made because of Battlebots' licencing rules meaning Chronic wasn't allowed to appear on the Robot Wars reboot. So technically - Kronic the Wedgehog is Apollo's ancestor!) (also WOW JP not rating Thermidor II highly... that little lobster went on to become one of the show's best little flippers!)

I'm surprised that Thermidor 2 didn't go for an axe as a primary weapon to complement the claws. Gripping a robot is kind of counter-productive if you're planning to flip them anyways. As we saw with Iron Awe in heat D, it could also double as a srimech.

the claws were pathetic, splinter (well splinter 2) went for the claw and axe combo but nobody else ever did, they went for a straight axe (dominator 2, terrorhurtz) or just claws (kan opener, crushstachean)

I think they're primarily designed to funnel robots onto the flipper without them being able to drive off before they activate the flipper. They're somewhat useful for dragging weaker robots around as well, but basically making flips more reliable seems to be the main use.

I'm not quite sure I understand why some heat finalists were seeded and some (Invertebrat, Darke Destroyer II) didn't. Even Suicidal Tendencies only got seeded because other robots pulled out.

Seeds in Series 4 were given mainly due to expectations and popularity with the audience/producers, like Stinger. I do agree that Suicidal Tendencies deserved to be part of the original list. In Darke Destroyer’s case, I’ve heard an idea thrown around that it wasn’t seeded because the team requested to be in the same episode as Gravedigger in order to have a grudge match. Presumably, there was already a seed lined up for the heat (Dreadnaut here, Sir Chromalot before Blade & Trident pulled out), so DD wasn’t given a ranking. As for Invertabrat, I guess that the producers weren’t enamoured enough with it to give it a seeding. A similar thing happened in Series 2- Oliver Steeples reached the Series 1 Grand Final with Cunning Plan, but the producers weren’t impressed with an unfinished Griffon at the auditions and only gave it a reserve spot in the series. Griffon only got to compete due to someone else pulling out.

I never got the scoring for pinball because a thought bigger brother should have more points not unless the big ball or the small ones go into the points

@@artimas23 The big ball going in the pit gives 20 points I believe and each little ball in the pit gives 5 points but I may be completely wrong. Scutter got all 3 targets (175pts), car door (25pts), and both sets of barrels (up to 30pts for each set) which is how they got 245. Bigger Brother did mostly the same but I'm pretty sure they missed one of the targets so that's why they only got 180pts
