You know - this episode has a lot of pointers that strongly suggest Ray Tait was correct in his recollection that The Parthian Shot was the robot involved in the nasty accident that occured during the filming of this heat. Members of the Milly-Ann Bug team have said they were having radio signal issues during their fight and then the incident happened immediately after they'd left the arena area afterwards. The very next fight - Ultor v Flipper - suddenly it appears as though robots are being set up against the side walls so they can be activated from outside the arena, where in all previous first round battles they would start somewhere nearer the centre. We can see that The Parthian Shot was the robot originally intended to fight Ultor - If it wasn't The Parthian Shot that was involved in the accident, it was certainly reserve chosen to replace it for this fight, I would think... I wonder if anyone from the Ultor team is around and willing to chime in on this?

Daisy Chopper was way ahead of its time. It wasn't until Series 6 or thereabouts that S3 and PulverizeR proved that sticking a large flywheel onto a Torque reaction bot was viable.

You gotta respect the teams behind Metalis and Mega Hurts. They never won a fight yet they competed (or tried to qualify) ever single year since Series 2!

Here in Oz we've only seen the later series, so watching these earlier ones is great! I must say, the little 'walker' is simply adorabubble! I believe, once a robot is 'dead' it should be left alone, and not mangled by house robots or other competitors. Give them a fighting change to repair or rebuild for the next heat. Just sayin'...

What the heck is this Heat honestly. In the semi, Firestorm not using it's flipper once, almost get's flipped by Bolt. Still progressing to the final. The final, Firestorm has CLEARLY driven into the pit but still is the winner?! There is absolute no logic to this whatsoever. I feel the producers just wanted Firestorm to progress to the semifinal because they were a Top 5 robot. Bullshit.

I can't stand how lucky 101 was in the first stage. It's just a heap of junk that's incredibly vulnerable... Also wtf Shunt?!?! First attacking Chaos 2 and then attacking Killerhurtz who had the upper hand

Killerhurtz had made contact with the CPZ, so Shunt was within legal right to attack it. Remember also that the House Robots' purpose isn't to be fair, but to be giant mechanised bullies. The only rule for them is that they're not allowed to attack a robot unless it enters their CPZ or is declared as eliminated; they don't have to attack the first competitor that comes into their CPZ if there's more than one there. Hell, they're not even obliged to attack anyone at all. And what does it matter anyway in this case when Shunt _did_ attack in the order of who made contact with his CPZ? Sure, he probably only saw a chance to get back at Chaos 2 after it turned him over in the UK Grand Final and he was left knocking pieces of himself off when trying unsuccessfully to self-right, but still. I completely agree with you about 101, though. I never would've even chosen it to represent England when it almost never won without sheer dumb luck on its side, and certainly not before this tournament. Sure, it beat Weld-Dor decisively here, but only after more sheer dumb luck getting past Panic Attack despite the latter blatantly being better. 101 is one of the most overrated robots I've ever seen, as if its cost-effectiveness was really that special. And I loved seeing it get crushed by Razer here and brutally retired by Fluffy in Series 5. Why couldn't Mentorn have put Hypno-Disc in 101's place here? You know, the robot that not only BEAT 101 earlier in this series, but won the Most Original Entry Award for a design that set the standard of destruction - robotic combat's main purpose - for years to come?
