Do they some way to load passengers wheel chairs & walkers, maybe they could have a robot to do that. How do they handle passengers who collapse or die in the cab, maybe ejector seats ?

I suspect that you question was facetious rather than serious but lets just suppose for one moment your were interested to know how RoboTaxis could be adapted to cater for people who currently need assistance. Low-Floor Designs: Some robotaxis are designed with low floors or ramps to make it easier for wheelchair users to board. For example, companies like Zoox and Cruise have explored designs that enable easy access, such as sliding doors and spacious interiors that accommodate wheelchairs. Automated Ramps and Lifts: Some designs incorporate automated ramps or lifts that can be deployed to assist passengers with limited mobility. These features ensure that individuals do not require additional help to board or alight from the vehicle. Adjustable Seating and Securement Systems: Robotaxis may feature adjustable seating that can be repositioned to accommodate wheelchairs, along with securement systems that keep the wheelchair stable during the ride. Some vehicles may also offer swivel seats that can turn to face the door, making it easier for those with limited mobility to get in and out. As for people who need assistance: Teleoperation Assistance: Companies like Waymo have explored teleoperation systems where a human operator can remotely assist passengers. This could involve remotely guiding the vehicle to a more accessible location or providing verbal assistance to passengers as they board or alight. On-Demand Support: In some cases, robotaxi services may include an option to request human assistance in advance. This could mean having a support worker available at pick-up and drop-off points to physically assist passengers with getting in and out of the vehicle. AI-Powered Assistance: Some robotaxis are being equipped with AI systems that can recognise when a passenger needs help. For instance, an AI might detect that a passenger is struggling and could activate additional features, like a ramp or a voice-assisted guide. Voice-Activated Controls: For passengers who cannot use traditional touchscreens or buttons, voice-activated controls can allow them to interact with the vehicle's systems, including opening doors, adjusting seating, or requesting assistance. I could go on, but needless to say the challenges that come with Robotaxis are being thought about and tested, but I suspect you are just trying to find fault rather than solutions.

People often die of trains without anyone noticing. I have overheard ticket inspector talking about checking a passenger's ticket on the way up to London. Seeing the same passenger holding the same ticket on the same train 3 hours later on the way back to the coast and realizing he was dead. Not an every day happening , but quite a common one.

A bucket load of broccoli is more like a 5,000 calories. 100kcals is about 300g. You do yourself no favours quoting silly numbers, in order to ridicule someone else's silly numbers.😂

I remember seeing claims that your petrol lawnmower or even petrol cigarette lighter produce more emissions than your car. It is of course true if you choose your units right. Your cigarette lighter produces more emissions than your car, _per gallon of petrol used_. Likewise the recent claims that a wood burning stove produces more pollution than an HGV. Again, you need to look at the units - it's more pollution per kWh of energy, neatly ignoring that a wood burning stove might be about 5 kW running full chat whilst an HGV is more likely to be 300 kW. It's all a case of pushing deliberately misleading statistics.

Good item. Robotaxis are here and are to stay. I guess many people will like those and use them. We wont for 99% of the time. We like the ride over small rural roads. We seldom know what route we will do. We have all the time of the world and the ride is our destiny. But when we know we have to go to places like Amsterdam without a cheap place to park. We could use a cheap robotaxi.

Half the price now. It's like that despicable Uber. Hundreds of billions in loses, but with enough backing to drive out traditional taxis. Now they pay their drivers peanut, and ride prices shooting up. Exactly the same will have with Robotaxi's. Simply lining billionaires pockets. Don't applaud it, fight it.

In my experience most Uber drivers are incapable of picking me up at the location I select on the app and on occasion some are incapable of dropping me at the destination I selected. So assuming robotaxis can do better then I say bring it on.

People will often decide if something is possible and then it is very hard to educate that fixed perspective. They are buying their heads in the sand to avoid seeing what is out there. Technology is growing so fast so it crazy times!

Methinks it is quantity over quality. I thought the channel was better when there were fewer videos in a week and that equated to better content (or my perception of better content) ...

Critical thinking are the two words needed here. It cost you nothing only a minute or two to fact check a statement like global warming, birth rate decline, you robotaxis, let's not forget certain social media sites and some so called politicians with incorrect information (summer 2024). I hope that every one viewing this channel is a critical thinker and through that a better citizen.

Does anyone think that total free speech is actually harming people these days? I am very open and like people to have their own autonomy and future but free speech seems to be different in this era. It's genuinely harmful and needs a little responsibility, someone can waste Daves time with things they believe but no other harm is done, but then others can say eVs are here to control the masses so adoption is slower and millions more have reduced quality of life or worse. I suppose that's just it, we live in an open society (to a degree) and there is always collateral damage.

It was the usual propaganda rubbish and emotional engagement by the lemming type to slag off things he has no knowledge about. He seems to be buying into everything he thinks the BBC puts in front of him. This character is as journalistic and as reliable as a bucketful of broccoli, but with even less calories he claims.
