the actual theory behind that is that he got programmed to close the door when he heard that phrase. A darker twist on the story of how far the villains went

@@KaunPrime More likely that Tim is loyal to Ratchet because he gets paid better. With Mr Bigweld in charge, the company runs on a deficit to accomodate the common robot. As someone who’s seen both ends of the economic spectrum, I can say with certainty that the difference in aesthetics is ON POINT - the sleek, shiny, minimalism of the “classy” rich as opposed to the loud, gaudy, overly blinged-out style of what the poor THINK looks like rich, or at least fitting the aesthetic of the nouveau riche… It’s honestly perfect. These filmmakers knew what they were doing!

Another reason for me to love this movie. The fact the movie is made of robots and metal is the reason for that. Back then those kinds of surfaces were way easier to make, for reflections, lighting, and realistic details. Perfect example is Ice Age 1 from around the same time. The animal fur and human models look really outdated, while Robots looks timeless.

The first time I saw this movie was as a kid on a bootleg dvd I got from some random dude down the street. It was out of sync and, of course, extremely blurry, but I remember really enjoying it. I enjoyed so much in fact that I also remember having and absolutely loving the hell out of a Rodney doll my mom bought me from Target. Its so weird to see it again in good quality, and I'm equally glad it still holds up.

Two things i don't like about this scene is 1: Why are only Rodney and Fender infiltrating the ball? Why can't Piper, Crank, Lug and Diesel come too? 2: all of the background characters are just reused and cloned. Even if they didn't have the time to make new models they could've given them a recolor.
@lechuga9153

I’m guessing that not all the gang could sneak in since it would be much more complicated to make sure to get them out. Matter of fact, Rodney was panicking because Fender got distracted and Wonderbot… Well, it was all pretty stressing, and they barely got out. So yeah, would have been a lot messier. And for the models being all similar, it probably was like you said lel Cheaper and easier. But also could signal how people from a certain demographic are all very similar, aaand since the company was focused on selling only upgrades, I guess you could also make a comment on how everyone is consuming the same products and so they end up looking the same. But that’s just my personal idea of it :b
