This is a great video mate! Trapping = patience. It was good that you were modifying the trap based on results. Great work!

Thanks mate, appreciate it. Yep, my thoughts to being in the outdoors is come up with a basic idea then crack on and get it going and adapt and modify as needed. Determination and perseverance I have no shortage of 👍🏻

Thanks mate. I have a couple of other live capture cage trap designs in my head that I think would work even better and also be less likely to fail. I may make videos on these at some point. one in particular I have never seen done in a trap like this.

Thanks for sharing the video. That trap is tops, I could see that working great on "alone". Hopefully you'll get the fox one day, or at least the pest doesn't come back.

Hahaha you read my mind. The thought that it could be used on Alone was definitely in my mind before setting out to make it. 🤙🏻

Your perserverance paid off. Nice trap. I love seeing the wildlife in other places. Foxes are protected where trap but l'll catch one by accident on occasion. Most of my primitive traps are kill traps, though I have made primitive live catch traps. I've had similar problems with trail cams, very frustrating but so useful.

We have a lot of introduced pest animals (and plants) in Australia. Foxes and feral cats are a real problem here.

Thanks for the great video. I am very impressed with your persistence. I am going to have to try to make something like this. I have thought this would be a great idea, but you are the first person I have seen make a trap like this. Thanks so much for proving it can be done! Godspeed from the States.

I'm glade you liked the video and thanks for taking the time to leave a comment, I really appreciate it. Yeah I hoped by showing the things I did then if others go out and make this style of trap they hopefully won't have the setbacks I had. 👍🏻

Stray dogs, shoot, shovel, shut up. Save wildlife not the strays.

Hahaha Well you'll be happy to know since thee two dogs had their scary experience with this trap I haven't seen them since. Feral cats are more of a problem and something I am seeing more and more. But I'm working on a new portable multi application cage trap with a door in the end and another in the top. It will allow me to target feral cats or use the trap in a completely different way to target birds.
