If you add a weight that can be repositioned along the bar length, you would have control over the frequency of the bar's oscillation. As a quick prototype, just tape a quarter to the spiral. Placing it at the end will slow it the most.

Depending on the metal used for the bar, a magnet could be used as the weight. The bar could then be marked with BPM indicators.

There's so many things you could do with this, from attaching a weight on the end so it wobbles of its own accord when you rock out, to attaching a toy mouse on the end of a piece of string to it and bringing cats into the studio...

​@@charlespancamo9771 My brothers favorite band is Modest Mouse and he gave me A Long Drive for Somebody With Nothing to think About on vinyl as a gift and I re listened to it and The Lonesome Crowded West and I could not listen to any artists for days all I could musicly think about where those albums, I originally thought of the MGMT Kids song its kind of got a similar progression with the Synth in the song but Issacs Brocks Wilkinson or Floyd Rose thing he dose is way more accurate than my original statement. Like in Breakthrough at around 3:36 that just random harmonic thing he dose is just amazing its the climax of the song for me and its just one note!

that bit around 1:45 that's actually the perfect sound for a breakup song. like reminiscing on the good times with the Ex, but every distortion is the realization/memory as to why they broke up to start with. as an example karen is singing about how they used to frolic in the flower fields and then whammy *remembers the abuse*, etc.

That is the biggest whammy bar I've ever seen, lol. Seems like you can get some unique sounding long trem flutters on that thing. Maybe Tim Henson should get one, since he's so addicted to putting them everywhere, haha ;)

I could totally see someone like Tim Henson make trem flutters work with this giant whammy as hell, lol. It seems to naturally hold the flutters for a long time, which would be interesting to hear him work with.
