@@joellenglass2344Jackie was a stuntman and stunt double in Enter The Dragon and Fist of Fury. He was only 17/18 years old and the youngest stunt coordinator in Hong Kong at the time. Jackie has been associated with over 200 movies for over 60 years beginning in 1962 at the age of 8 with "Big and Little Won Tin Bar". He is also a popular singer in Asia who has over 20 albums and has performed for 20,000 or more fan filled stadiums...as well as singing the soundtracks for many of his movies and various films like the Mandarin versions of Mulan, Beauty and The Beast, and Aladin and has won the Best Foreign Singer Award in Japan. Drunken Master, Fist of Fury, Project A and Project A Part 2, Police Story 1-4 then it was Rumble in the Bronx that became his breakthrough movie that everyone in the US loved. When it comes to action, fight choreography, & stunt work; Hollywood never allowed Jackie complete control due to insurance policies. In Hong Kong, him & his team were banned by insurance companies. Hence, his best action sequences were from his 80s & 90s Hong Kong films: Drunken Master 2 (aka The Legend of Drunken Master), Miracles, Who Am I, etc...

Glad you’re impressed Jackie Chan’s legendary stuntwork. Even though his work in the Rush Hour series, Rumble in the Bronx and Shanghai Noon made him a household name with Western audiences, you should be aware that Jackie was about 50 years old at tlhe time and well past his prime. If you want to see his craziest stuntwork, you’ll need to go back to his Ho Hong Kong days and check out Driunken Master, Project A, Wheels on Meals, Armour of God, etc. The stuntwork he does in these films make the stunts in Jackie’s American films look positively ordinary. Interesting to note, Jackie did try Hollywood BEFORE his Hong Kong success. However, American filmmakers were too frightened to allow the kind of stunts Jackle was suggesting, stunts that would make him famous in the East

3 parts of this movie that really make me crack up laughing are: 1. When Carter starts dancing like Michael Jackson in the middle of the street after blowing the car up 2. When Lee and Carter are bonding and practicing disarming techniques while Edwin Starr's song "War" plays in the background 3. When Carter says "I know that ain't the bomb. Get that bomb away from me." Towards the end And trust me, the blooper reels for the remaining two movies are just as funny when it comes to the slip-ups with the dialogue.

Very well known in Chinese Mandarin Martial Art movies. My favorite was "Drunken Monkey". I style Jackie Chan uses in many of his movies. Jackie Chan actually may hold the record of broken bones for doing all his own stunts. Jacki is a very humble personality. He is very caring and treats everyone around him with respect. I met Jackie at LAX in 1997 as, believe or not, his security escort (bodyguard) from the gate to a limo I had waiting for him. I was afraid I wouldn't recognize him but he got off the plane wearing a red, white and blue "All American" jogging suit waving back to the crowd shouting "Jackie!" to him. He spoke almost zero English and had to learn his lines phonetically for this and several other of his early films. He was 44 years old when he made this one and continued making action films like this well into his 60s. Amazing talent. You're going to love The 5th Element with Chris Tucker and Bruce Willis.

The actress that played Johnson was Elizabeth Pena. She passed away not too long ago. You should watch La Bamba, the story of Mexican American singer Ritchie Valens. She plays his sister in law who suffers a lot with his alcoholic brother Bob.

This film was the epitome of "no one asked for this" but it easily became one of the best films to come out of the 90s Outdated offensive humor and everythiing 😂 Easily one of my childhood favorites Y'all should do a Jackie Chan run from his really young days like Rumble In The Bronx

Rush Hour is such a fun movie, the sequel is good too. Fun fact, Foo Chow Restaurant is a real restaurant in Chinatown in LA. On the wall near the entrance it says “Rush Hour was filmed here”.

Jackie Chan is everything. 💜 He is a producer, director, fight choreographer, actor (in several languages across genres)... and was one of his country's popular singers. You must watch the credits of any Jackie Chan movies because they show all fight scene bloopers. My favorite movies are "Gorgeous" (a romance with some fighting) and " Drunken Master", a martial arts comedy. Many of his films are dubbed in English so make sure you watch an English version.

19:45 - You're right Amber, Jackie Chan has been in at least 142 films over a course of a 60 year career. You and Jay should check out the following films: Obviously Rush Hour 2, and Rush Hour 3, but also: The Legend of the Drunken Master (1994) Rumble In The Bronx (1995) The Foreigner (2017) The fight choreography in The Legend of the Drunken Master is top notch, and amazing! Of course, being that the fight and stunt coordinator was legendary, Chia-Liang Liu (brother of other legendary martial arts actor, Gordon Liu), and also stars in the film. There is a man in this film who's kicking/footwork is so darn good, it is like he is boxing with his feet. Incredible!!

50:23 - Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are likely the best "cop duo" in any movie in the history of filmmaking. The next best cop/buddy team would be Danny Glover and Mel Gibson in the Lethal Weapon franchise, which is equally as amazing, btw.

Jackie Chan has made over 150 movies, and has a star on both the Hong Kong and Hollywood Walks of Fame. He is a recording star in Asia, with a bunch of records to his name. Classically trained in martial arts and acrobatics by a branch of the Peking Opera, he's picked up a bunch of kung fu styles, karate, and other martial arts. Never used a double to do his stunts, as you remarked. Love his movies. Great flick.

Fun fact about c4, shooting it would not set it off. It requires heat and pressure... I had a roommate back in my army days who was special forces. He used to mess with people sitting on bixes of c4 while smoking. People, who didn't know better, would freak out. One officer made him put the cig out so he put it out on the c4 box lol. The officer ran off lol.

The out-takes/bloopers for Jackie Chan's movies are hilarious. And I agree with others that you should react to "Shanghai Noon" (2000) and "Shanghai Knights" (2003) with Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson are funny! Jackie has a couple of funny movies called "The Accidental Spy" (2001) with Jennifer Love-Hewitt, and "The Medallion" (2003). And there is a "Rush Hour 2" and a "Rush Hour 3".

Hey guys! I love your reactions. You two are awesome! I've seen you react to a couple of Eddie Murphy movies, but when I heard you say "We didn't know Dr. Dolittle cussed" I couldn't help but think that you guys need to watch his classic stand-up specials: Delirious and Raw. Murphy was kinda known for cursing back in the day and those are two of the best stand up specials ever.
