This was my wedding song. My husband and I went to see Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves on our first date. This was the theme to that movie so it was kind of the perfect choice for our wedding. Next year will be our 30th anniversary and we’re still going strong.❤

Well, now you HAVE to watch "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves", which featured this song on the soundtrack (and it was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Song in 1991). You'll love it - it stars Kevin Costner, Morgan Freeman, Alan Rickman (Snape from Harry Potter), and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio. For your next Bryan Adams song, I nominate "Thought I'd Died and Gone to Heaven" or, if you're feeling frisky, "So Happy It Hurts" from his 2021 album of the same name.

@@Head-ck4hu I know... and I know they've seen Die Hard, but as they are now more than halfway through the Harry Potter series (and should be through Deathly Hallows within the next few weeks), I figured this is how J&A would best know him. Adams is incredible. I'm 33 years old (despite looking very much younger in my pic - it was taken 3 months ago) & my mum pretty much raised me on Bryan Adams. He is quite incredible. Wonderful vocals & beautiful lyricism that suits his voice perfectly. I would never tell my mum how much I appreciate her inadvertent musical education bequeathed unto me (mainly because I don't want to over-inflate her ego) but I'm actually very grateful to have been privy to her musical leanings whilst growing up 🙂.

Wedding song of the 90s!! Plus a Robin Hood soundtrack. A number 1 song in just about every country. A canada icon!! Wife and I seen him 3x, including once as a headlliner outdoors in the pouring rain. He said as long as we're gutted it out , he was gonna stay. Until lightning got too close.

This song was a HUGE hit. It stayed at #1 in the US for 7 weeks. It is from the movie Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, which was also a big hit for Kevin Costner, who stars in it. Funny thing about that movie is that Costner tries an english accent, but essentially quits trying.

One of the greatest power ballads. My favorite Bryan Adams song is Run to You, which I would recommend. Also check out the main theme to Robin Hood Prince of Thieves and listen for the change that you will undoubtedly recognize.

This song came out just before my oldest daughter was born. It was always my song for her. I still have it on my phone to this day for my soon to be 30 year old. When she was a newborn I would gladly take my turn with midnight feedings, and I loved singing. this tune softly in the dark while a danced with her on my shoulder. The first time I held my granddaughter 18 months ago, I immediately began singing this song to her as her beautiful blue eyes looked at me. Just like with her mother, I found myself unable to hold it together and began crying while dancing with my beautiful girl. This is my go to emotional song.

Saw Bryan Adams live in the early-mid 80's. 80's a little of a blur but it was in Worcester, Massachusetts and he opened up for Journey. Hell of a show, he sounds great live. Great choice!

In the summer of 1992, I went to a concert with Steve Miller and Bryan Adams was the closing act and I had seen Bryan before in concert prior to this and I was excited to see Steve Miller, but something happened at this concert that stood out. My friend and I were with our two GFs and they had a few girlfriends with them and they decided to try to get to the main stage and as close as possible to Bryan Adam's performance. My friend suggested we go to the smaller stage way at the back for his encore performance later and we ended up literally 4 feet from the stage and directly in the centre. Sure enough, when his set finished at the main stage and the chants for "encore" started, the lights at the encore stage suddenly turned on and a few minutes later Bryan Adams appeared and all the people from the main stage scrambled to get over to where we were. Well, halfway through his first song, he pointed to the people in the front row and yelled "who wants to come on stage"? I was wearing my Blue Jays cap and he pointed to each member in the front row and went passed me and then went back and pointed directly to me and yelled "you, you want to come on stage" I put both my arms up and said "oh yeah"! I climbed up on stage and he talked to me and asked if I wanted to play one drum beat and he showed me the one drum that I had to keep a steady beat going and I was so bloody thrilled to be up there. Looking out and the spot lights and the thousands of people out there blew my mind. I saw my friend's face in the front row and he just had a perma-grin going on. Well I started beating the drum and he continued and a few minutes later I could barely hear one of the GF's voices scream my name and I saw her and waved and I could read her lips since I could barely hear her as she said "WTF" and I just yelled I'm in the band!!! After the concert I got their perspective and apparently when I was on stage, that one female friend leaned over to my GF and said "hey that guy on stage in the ball cap kind of looks like your BF and she said OMG it is, how did he get on stage??!!". After that concert, for a few weeks, friends and some co-workers came up to me and asked if I was on stage at the Bryan Adams concert as they had seen me. I will never forget that experience all these years later and it still comes up in social scenes or parties when I reminisce and talk about how I toured with Bryan Adams ;-) Good times, good times.

Thank you both so much for checking this song out and appreciating it for exactly what it is - an expertly crafted and performed power ballad. It’s also a great example of how space can be wonderful in a solo, and sometimes less truly is more. One of my favorite guitar solos, and one of my favorite songs:) It is always such a pleasure to watch you two enjoy music, thank you for sharing and Happy (early) Valentine’s Day!!
