Bobby womack…so underrated! Great stuff! A Sam Cook protégé…you can sometimes here some sam in his delivery. A lot of people didn’t approve when he married Sam’s widow. Bobby also played the Wah guitar parts on Sly and the Family Stone’s ‘family affair’. Also…theres a video on youtube of the recording of Todd Rundgren’s ‘the want of a nail’ with bobby on it. One of my mom's favorites ... she would tell the story of how she and her cousin would sit around listening to this song while sharing beers and just "Ohhhh" and rock to the music, thinking Bobby Womack was saying, "Wait until tonight, you won't be lonely when I come home to you."
