"Making Love Out Of Nothing At All" holds a memorable time for me. I was 8, and visiting my older sisters in Phoenix. It was the late summer of 1983. It was so epic and moving. This song, and Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse Of The Heart", were playing on the radio. I believe they were both written by the same producer. "Return Of The Jedi", Michael Jackson and many major cultural events were happening in 1983. I can honestly say that I experienced and loved every minute of it.

According to Graham Russell, he wrote this song in just 15 minutes. He told us: "'Lost In Love' is such a simple song. I think about the songs before I start to write them, and I think about where they're going to go. I'm very aware that when that inspiration comes, it comes very quickly: it's like a dart, and it doesn't last a long time, that real initial impulse. So when it comes I know that the thoughts are going to be scattered, and they're going to come really fast, and I need to get them down quickly, so I need to think about the song first when I know it's coming. When a song is coming I get a weird feeling, and then I kind of drift somewhere on my own to think about it. But when I actually play the piano or pick the guitar up, it'll come really quickly. But my songs, too, are very simple. I mean, I'm not into jazz, and I'm not into fusion or anything like that. My songs are really straight ahead, real simple chords, the simpler the better. So a song like 'Lost In Love' with four chords, there's only two parts to it. There's really no chorus. There's just a verse and a bridge. So something like that shouldn't take longer than 15 minutes to write, you know."

This was all over the radio when I was growing up and learning about which musical direction resonated with me. I had been raised primarily on country, given my father played and sang it in the 'family band', but my mother liked rock/pop music, so when we were in the car without dad, that's what we listened to. I fell in love with this song during that era, and the feeling continues.

Still good to watch your journey of discovery in broadening your musical horizons. We really do love you two. Feels like you guys are so real. What you see is what you get. I think that is the reason everything is just resonating with us that are in the Rob Squad Fam. This is what is sorely needed in our society today. Wishing for our country to start showing more love one to another. We were brought up that way in our generation. I came of age to music like this in the early 1980's. I know you guys have brought your little ones right. So many young folk miss out on the firm foundation of a good and Godly foundation, being taught common courtesy, manners and just goodness, mercy, and love for our fellow man. They're a duo who've had various other members as the backing band. They began in the 1970s and had their biggest hits in the early to mid 1980s. They still tour. I've been listening to Air Supply since I was 6 years old, I'm now 44 years old, and it makes me happy to see young people checking them out. You do check out this song by them called "Sandy, and hard to forget her."

In the first half of the 80s Air Supply was everywhere! I've always loved them! And to think this performance is live with group vocals, who are also playing instruments, backing by a full orchestra, and lead vocalist with certainly no Auto Tune and is stunning, AMAZING!! ... they are talented beyond belief and I miss their brand of music! Please do more from this group! ♥️♥️♥️

Air Supply is my all time favorite band! Violins are the oxygen of vocal music. And I also appreciate that they took care with their attire. Dress up, show up and be present entertainers .

I've seen Air Supply 3 times in the last 5 years. They still sound great, the backup band is amazing, and it's one of the best times you could ever have at a live concert, plus their tickets aren't hundreds of dollars. If you get a chance to see them, go!

My favorite of theirs. Listen to studio version uninterrupted. You'll hear Russell Hitchcock's voice go even higher in the studio version. It's super climactic.

When I was 12 and 13 years old they became very big and I loved them. My Dad surprised me with concert tickets when I was 14 and told me they were 15th row and we walked right past that row to the third which was like 1st row in most venues. Close enough that we were able to reach out and touch their hands during the concert. My Daddy made me very happy, I'll never forget his big smile. Much better songs by them, Here I Am, The Power Of Love, Two Less Lonely People. I loved your reaction to All Out Of Love too. ❤️ The shorter man with dark, curly hair is the primary lead singer, Russell Hitchcock. The tall blonde on acoustic guitar who sings lead part of the time and sings harmony also writes a lot of their music, his name is Graham Russell. Both very talented.

in the 80's they were the band you had to choose to hear ballads. Romantic ballads. They have so so many. Beautiful love songs i couldn't forget. This one was recorded at the very first take cause was perfectly done. The lead singer has an umbelievable high range. I saw them at concert in the 80's twice and they were fantastic. They are still performing. Some of my list are: Making love out of nothing at all, The one that you love, Every woman in the World, Even the nights are better, Sweet dreams, After all, Young love, The power of love wich is was recorded by Celine Dion, Chances, Just as i am.

Please listen to the original studio version of this song. He sounds great here, but singers do tend to get weaker as they age. The notes he hits when he’s young are insane.

Yes Russell Hitchcock was definitely strained in this video. He’s not even that old here but when he was young it was totally effortless and his voice glided in the clouds.
