Obviously, both coalitions must have been engaged in bringing the buffalo down, and the older lions must have made a rational judgment that sharing with the younger coalition be far better than fighting with them to risk unnecessary injuries. If both coalitions consisted of many lions, and that only one prey is far less than what they need, a fight would occur. Moreover, the personality of each of these 4 lions also plays an important role in making sharing happen.

As yet TB has had little impact in the Mara/Serengeti ecosystem, perhaps because cows have been here with the Maasai for enough time that the wildlife has built an immunity? @robtheranger4 жыл бұрын
The reason the older males are so thin is that their teeth are worn out and they cannot eat properly, feeding them wouldn't help. Feeding the younger males would cause them to become lazy and even less efficient at getting their own food, basically causing a never ending cycle of humans feeding them, then they would no longer be wild animals and may as well be in captivity.
