I still have this keyboard. My WASD keys are worn visually, but they still work perfectly. The driver is able to count keystrokes and even though i don't use the driver anymore, i'm pretty sure i'm at 60+ million keystrokes. It's not mechanical, but it has a very nice sound to it. I'll continue using this keyboard until it doesn't work anymore. Who knows how many years it has left. :D also, the side macros are very nice for gaming - i use the M3 to talk in games, and it's such a nice edition you rarely see in high-end keyboards today.

Thanks for the Roccat review. Just started looking for a mechanical backlit keyboard and Roccat sparked my interest. Would like to see you review the Ryos series when they are released, preferably the Pro version. Love mechanical keys, but backlighting with effects is what I really want.

Mechanical keyboards are a little bit more responsive, but this is a really good keyboard. I recently ordered it after I got to use it at a friends house and it was very responsive and it felt nice to rest your hand and fingers on the keyboard. It also goes great if you get a roccat mouse because of roccat talk.

I own the Isku (non fx) and it has worked wonders. It's really comfortable to type on and game one. I especailly LOVE how it games with mmorpgs because of the number of macros.I have it paired with the roccat kova + and its just so much more convenient with all of the skills in with mmos. The software on both are also versatile and user friendly.

Mechanical allows you to feel the actuation of the key instead of the mushy feel of a membrane keyboard. It gives you more tactile feedback so you know you hit the key. Its just more crisp and generally the keyboards are generally built better.

No, it actually reduces fatigue as you can feel when the switch activates so you don't have to bottom out the key like you do on your membrane keyboard. You can type lightly and more quickly. You can also get a switch that isn't loud.

I personally own a Roccat Isku (non-fx version) keyboard with the Roccat Kone[+] mouse an they work great together, i bought them on NCIX last month when they had a gaming deal going on for only like $99 which also came with a Roccat Hat.

I bought the original Isku for my little gamer sister and everything to the last spec, even the packaging and box graphic layout is the same as this on, it only has the FX added.

It doesn't even have to be the shift key. It can be any of the quick stike buttons or you can programme any macro key to be the Caps.

You can change what the [+]key does. I've mine set to caps lock, so it works like a normal keyboard

You abosultely right in terms of the WPM and such. However, one would choose to use a mechnical keyboard for gaming simply because it feels much nicer to type on when compared to membrane.

If you have small hands I can see why the shift+macro function works. I personally have big hands and can easily reach most of the macro keys on my Vengenace k90. Also, if you have to take your finger off the shift/ctrl anyway, it doesn't really matter wether you put it on your macroshift or the G pad to the side.

I've got the Roccat Isku (difference from Isku, and Isku fx is the lighting I think), and Im so glad I bought it. if you for example play a moba game and you have to signal someone is missing or someone is on their way to another lane I just press the shift+ button and press w/a/s/d based on where its happening :) Also a very comfortable keyboard, I've played hours upon hours without my hands/wrists being tired/hurt

The easyshift button is indeed capslock on this board, but it REPLACES the capslock button, instead of it being both of them. You can have capslock if you want it, just go into the software and program it to whatever button you want. The software of this board literally lets you do anything you want.

Own the normal Isku since christmas (G15 was replaced by it) and didn't want to change back to an other keyboard. But the most annoying thing is the gloss paint.

I don't know if this is going to help, but I was originally thinking of purchasing a G19. I checked out alternatives and I settled on the Isku FX because it has the sensory effects and it's much cheaper (and the regular Isku, not Isku FX, is even more affordable but it only has a blue backlight). Both keyboards have macro buttons, multicolor backlighting & customization, and cable management. But the isku is bigger (takes up more space) and doesn't have the screen. Compare their vids and sites

The caps it the Roccat Shift plus... above the shift button. ^_^ if u press that key (not long press) a blue illumination will show that the caps is activated and can be used. ^_^

You can switch on the caps lock if you want.And also you can switch of the window key in games,so you not fall of from game becouse you hit the window key accidently.

GG, you learned how to use the back button. Some prefer Mechanical, while I don't. I've used all different switch types, I just prefer Membrane keys. I personally prefer the response and feel of them. To each their own right.

If someone's unsure of the Caps Lock being "removed" as he said, and switched with the Shift + button, it doesn't mean that there's no Caps Lock button. The shift + button is the Caps Lock, but has the "Shift +" attribute if activated at the same time as another button with the Shift + attribute. What made it for me is that the buttons aren't as tall and noisy as most other keyboards have. I've only been gaming on a laptop and console my whole life so I'vw gotten used to the "low" keys. The Razer Deathstalker also has this trait, but the Isku has the other Media buttons and stuff which made me change my decision. Haven't got the Isku yet, but I can't wait! :D

They've released a new mechanical keyboard called the MK and MK pro, they fixed everything that isn't right with the fx e.g no glossy finish, better backlight etc.

I haven't shopped around yet so this may be out there all ready. But what I would like to see in a gaming keyboard are hard locked feet to raise the back of the keyboard. I have had the flippy feet break off so many times and had to resort to using blocks of wood or even Lego's to raise up the back of the board. If there were different height's of feet that could be slid and locked into position. That to me would be stronger and better for eg. Board rage... We all do it..

I have a normal Roccat Isku, it's an incredible keyboard. It's not meant to be mechanical obviously cause it has "low profile" keys, which I prefer instead of taller keys.

I have owned this baby for a couple of years (kind of, I owned the "isku" without the FX, only color lights were blue), and mechanical or not, I could care less. There is NOTHING that can compare to the key combinations of this baby. I own 2 right now, just to have one as a backup. The easyshift is incredible...I mean INCREDIBLE. And then the macro keys off to the side like any other keyboard. It takes some getting used to at first, took me a couple weeks to REALLY get the easyshift down.

I looked for good manual in roccat webpage but I dont found it there either.For a such complex keyboard and mouse Roccat should give a deep manual for the customers to understand how these things working.So i spent hours to learn myself how I can create macros for example.But other than that I am satisfied with Roccat products.

My Ultimate S isn't even oriented towards gamers; it's for fast touch typists like me. It has all you need and that's it. I personally LOVE the sound and feel of the CherryMX Blue switches, that's just how it is.

I buyed a roccat kone pure together with the keyboard.The easy shift function you can use together with the keyboard.According the manufacturer they ahve roccat talk effect,mening if something happeing in the game they change colors etc. But you have to adjust the mouse and keybourd setting for this by writing macros to the mous and to the keyboard.Honestly i never used this roccat talk fucntion sicne when i play I only watching the monitor.

YEASH!!! Im proobly not going to buy this keyboard, but i got to give roccat credit for killing off Caps lock. I usually remap caps lock and the key between Right Windows and Right Ctrl key to volume control

The only beef I have with this keyboard, is that they retained the glossy accents. They should have gone with what they did with Ryos. Sure it looks nice now, but that won't last. Otherwise, great job Roccat. And Linus, once again, great unboxing video! :)

I bought Razer naga when it first came out in 2009, and used it up until the fall of 2012 (replaced with g600), sold it to a friend and his GF is still using it. Razer blackwidow is prone to breaking, but other than that id say razer got very solid products.

do u have a roccat talk mouse (like the kone)? If u do how good do they work together? I don't really know what mouse I wanna get right now I really wanna get me the sharkoon drakonia black but since I am planning to get me this keyboard I might also pick a roccat mouse but if it is only the shift plus function that gets shared I can also emulate that with the sharkoon mouse. Either way I have had a short session with this keyboard at my local store and I really liked it and to me it is worth it
