Just got it and it's wow!! A smooth boozy vanilla with some spices.. Very classy, elegant, a true classic masculine scent with a modern twist! Thanks for your recommendation 😊

Great review of this, I have had this for a while now, it is a gorgeous and lovely sophisticated scent but its too nice to wear casually unless I am dressed up in smart casual going somewhere really nice which I can't do in lockdown now, thanks Covid :(. I wear This is Him and Eau Des Baux and Chergui as my Autumn casual fragrances.

for me moustache starts off like Dior Homme intense or Valentino Uomo intense and in the dry down you have some of that mysterious Dior Fahrenheit darkness. Compliments galore!

Good morning Joao, I have to get my nose on this one for sure! I agree with everything you said about average Joe and tuxedo. Even if I can afford such a high price, the most probably is that I will buy 2-3 other great fragrances instead of one. After wearing Tom Ford's Beau de Jour for a few days in the start of the summer, I bought Zino a few days ago for the same reason. I couldn't justify the steep difference in the price for such a similar scent profile, and to tell you the truth, I actually prefer zino more; it has more depth and complexity than Beau de Jour. Zino may be cheap, but it's not a cheap smelling perfume. If we put under consideration that zino released years before Beau de Jour... we can understand which one inspired the other... On another note I have two recommendations for you: Hermes equipage geranium, and a hidden gem: L'erbolario absinthium. This is a herbal, balsamic, bittersweet concoction you have to try!

This fragrance is now one of my top favorites. I loved the scent when I first got it but longevity was underwhelming for the first 2 tests I did. I got about 5-6 hours and then it dissipated it. 2 months later when the temperature dropped for about a week, I wore it. And I was surprised to notice whiffs of it 7-8 hours in. The second time I wore it, lasted about 10 hours. And third time even after 12 hours it was a very strong skin scent. I ordered a backup bottle of it after noticing the performance development. I guess it macerated. It's just pure calss.

Cartier Declaration Parfum, Bvlgari Pour Homme Soir, Azzaro Pour Homme Intense, Bentley For Men Intense and Lalique Encre Noire A L'Extreme are also fantastic Fall/Winter fragrances that he recommended. I have all, including Z&V and Moustache EDP. I don't have Zino, Cartier Pasha Parfum and Givenchy Pi (I'm a designer guy btw). I would recommend you another hidden cheap gem: S.T. Dupont Royal Amber. Fantastic fragrance!

I know this scent is perfect for dressed up formal occasions but do you think it's good for a more casual wear during the day as well?

Definitely smells more expensive than it is! And although it's absolutely unisex, I always get the image of my father when I smell it for some reason. Maybe the spices and benzoin remind me of old spice or something? I dunno, but it's an easy reach for at least 8 months of the year and VERY well recieved by the people around me.

Something about peppery woodiness that people sometimes associate with masculinity, but that-woody amber sweetness and slightly fruity rose keep it straight down the middle for me. Plus that entire YSL line (Tuxedo and others) feel unisex too. Even marketed that way.

This fragrance is the DEAL of the century. I have YSL Tuxedo and this smells very close to it. Natalie Gracia-Cetto is the perfumer for this fragrance - she has a strong resume of fragrances she has created. One of the more recent ones was JPG Le Male le Parfum.

Joao where did you find that 125 ml bottle for €25? I got one from Notino Germany a few weeks ago, the 125 ml bottle goes for €35.50 there, and the 75ml, €26.90. Still very affordable. I have never smelled tuxedo, this fragrance I find great, very unisex and soft smelling. For me Fall king cheapies are Bentley Intense, Burberry London, and Encre Noire. This one could be added to that list, specially as quite a soft option compared to those.

Rochas EDP, Pulse of the Night and also Bentley for Men Intense prove the point that dense, high quality and luxurious smelling fragrances doesnt need to cost too much, definitely not as much as some niche houses charge. It begs the question: how can niche pricing be justified when these gems exist?

I think it has to do with the presentation, ingredients, and bottles. Rochas edp is a nice fragrance but does smell synthetic same with Bentley for men. YSL Tuxedo is nice smooth and rich fragrance. For the price Rochas Edp is a alternative.

You can't really do much better for the price..I got my 125ml bottle for under £30 and smells that close to ysl Tuxedo it's a no brainer to get it if you can because as soon as this hits the shelves or the discount websites it's gone..
