So often amateur videos are much more pleasant to watch than chaser videos, this wonderful footage being a prime example. No screaming, no obvious comment like "this is violent, on the ground, gotta be an EF5, oh my God, power flashes" etc. Just a steady video of an awesome, beautiful meso cyclone, wall cloud, and a gorgeous twister.

Building codes will be drastically changed in the near future. Especially the Amazon Warehouse...built in tornado alley with that construction?...not anymore, hopefully.. DelTec round houses fare better than rectangular. Passiv Haus will do even better. Rammed earth ad built partially in the ground...future new designs and materials will be everywhere. Better planning too. Mercy and care bestowed on the dead and injured.
@Og-Judy2 жыл бұрын
@@gracewoodard9134 This was the April 2015 Rochelle- Fairdale EF 4. North Central Illinois. Farther north than Edwardsville near St. Louis . Rochelle is roughly 25 miles south of Rockford, which is 18 miles or so south of the Wisconsin state line near Beloit The problem of the Amazon warehouse is the building design. Tip up concrete panels that fail when the roof is torn off of such an open space building. Same thing happened to the Home Depot in Joplin . I think all those warehouse type buildings should be constructed with solid reinforced poured concrete.
@gracewoodard91342 жыл бұрын
@@Og-Judy Good observation. Most of these warehouse buildings have a 25 year life. Put up fast, no thought of the changes happening in the climate or extreme weather events. Most building codes, weak. Building into the ground in the mid west makes sense. Slab foundations on the surface don't. The peel off of roofs says it all that you mentioned.. They are built to be temporary. Like the word Depot...a stop off place, not an end. Round structures do better in tornado prone areas...Deltech homes survive hurricanes...better engineered...but only one of many innovative companies that consider extreme weather. Trick is to get commercial building to retool. Need demand and distribution.
