The 4 Seasons are one of the best selling American groups of all time. The first band of the rock era to write their own songs, play their own instruments, and have their first three releases hit number one. And yes even before The Beach Boys and the Beatles!!!!

Not to take anything away from them,Buddy Holly was the 1st self contained unit.They were Electronic Doo Wop.After the British Invasion,their music really ramped up.
