God those drums are so damn difficult, even without double bass this song is a pain on drums. On top of that a standard RB drum kit can’t play as well as a stock GH kit in my opinion.

Yes, heavily. Listen to their Hail to the King album. All of the songs on that album are obviously takes on their inspirations. It's VERY much Metallica, GnR, Megadeth & Iron Maiden.

Afterlife, Almost Easy and Bat Country are all much much easier than this song imo xD This is one of the hardest A7X songs in terms of stamina and it having a drum solo.
