@@islesisle I honestly believe their time will come, it has to for a band as good as Protomartyr and it sounds like they aren't against not being poor lol. I've been lucky enough to see them live 5 times in the UK and they have been amazing every single time.

⁠@@islesisle you are completely right about younger people finding deftones. Lots of subsections of tik tok essentially have led to basically mainstreaming a lot of other bands and people too. Molchat Doma for example blew up and that’s also post punk but very much a different sound from protomartyr.

I dont want to sound like one of those kids that act cool for "having good taste in music". But Im currently 17 and have been into Protomartyr for about a year now, and have even caught them live once from last year. And honestly, protomartyr are one of the only modern-ish bands that i connect with so much. Their music has always immediately gripped me and Greg Ahee has restored my interest in picking up a guitar again, which is something I cant say with a lot of modern bands. I really hope this band gets more recognition and people give them more of a chance. Just hope they don't become sellouts of anything, which i doubt they will.

Wow, the anchor really has no idea what this ominous band is all about, very distant, very random questions aside the obvious local news stuff... love them so much. The last album for whatever reason didn’t get me as much, but this one got me instantly. Sonically beside new dynamics there are so many references to Intellect, Color & Relatives, really feels like coming home tbh. Can’t wait to see them live again.

I love Protomartyr, they’re one of my favorite bands. But all it would take is the interviewer to listen to one song for him to know why they haven’t “hit it big”. That’s not really why they’re doing what they’re doing.
