Those cockpit videos are insane. Guys going full pedal right into what looks like a wall. Unreal

How much on average does it cost to build one of these or buy one second hand? I'm from Australia and have NEVER seen anything like these vehicles here.
@MadRam11 Жыл бұрын
If you build it brand new you are looking at anywhere from 100k to 200k depending on who built it and parts used. Sometimes you can find used one for 80 to 100k or sometimes more. Their are a lot of variations in them.

How are we still so far behind the Icelandic F1 trucks? Paddle tires, lower center of gravity, significantly lighten the chassis, and tighten the damn shocks. These are some things we need to do to our American bouncers to catch up to the Icelandic F1 trucks.
@MadRam11 Жыл бұрын
You’re kidding right? No way the ice landic guys could attack this course like some of the good drivers do. The rockbouncers are setup for all types of terrain. Not just loose dirt hill climbs.

@@MadRam11 I'm more serious than a fat kid in the food line my friend. All the shocks are oversprung and under dampened, this springs the rear end in the air over every bump. They have unarguably too much decorative roll cage with the double B pillars and rib cage skeletons, adding to the top heavy issues. The springs being understocked means that excessive ride height is required to keep the soft suspension that's too soft from bottoming out. And the tires.............. there's absolutely no comparing cut boogers to the traction you get from paddles. The fast dirt drag racers are ALL running paddles because they provide incomparable traction, but they don't hold up and they cost more. Our rock bouncers are set up for the show, not the fastest possible times, I mean this in the most respectful way my friend, prove me wrong. I would love to chat more about this, especially if it gets our builds moving faster up the hill.
@MadRam11 Жыл бұрын
For starters the rules state you have to run a 39" tire or bigger so that rules out paddles. The formula buggies are made for climbing straight up loose dirt hills. They aren't made for ripping around a course as fast as you can. Have you ever seen the formula guys in person? Their buggies aren't made near as capable as a rock bouncer. Rock Bouncers can go fast on lots of different terrain where a formula buggy is only good for climbing loose dirt hills.

Dude you’re comparing two completely different sports. Some of what you’re saying makes sense for this particular track only. This sport has been strongly progressing over the past 20 years in the direction it needs to! So multiple buggy manufacturers, component manufacturers and individual driver/builders have all got it wrong? Come on mate, these are the people out there actually doing it and I would imagine they’ve experimented as to what works the best and that’s what we see here. What works best in Iceland is different than the U.S apart from this one course. That’s why they used this one. Their style of buggies just aren’t suited to bouncing over large rocks.
@jasonwcoleman250 Жыл бұрын
@@MadRam11 , formula buggies absolutely race around multiple terrains, up hills and down, over jumps and around corners, don't forget the H2O skipping either. Overall, the Iceland rigs are more capable in every terrain except maybe giant rocks. Neither class is crawling over rocks, so massive suspension isn't necessary. And If the rules state 39" tires or bigger then we need to find someone willing to put scoops on a DOT because that's the biggest limiting factor on most US bouncer courses.
