First of all I would like to say that you both did great, I don't how long you two have been rock climbing, but if this was the first time I think you did really good. Here are some tips for the future: Keiani: From the most part it you did amazingly, however there were times where your arms were "locked" (imagine flexed arm hangs). You should try to have your arms more relaxed, as if you were hanging from a bar. That way you won't tire yourself out as quickly Another tip is foot work, if can try to use your toes rather than the side of your foot, this way you can adjust your foot position to more favorable. For the most part you did this near-perfectly A technique that would really help you would be "flagging". "Flagging" is where you put your foot away from you to either prevent massive swings or to reach certain holds. A good example of when to use this is at 5:32 you were actually flagging right there (notice how your leg is stretched out trying to use the orange foot chip). However a more favorable flag would be to have your right foot on the orange hold (where your left foot is) and take your left foot and bring it ~1-2 feet from you. What you'll notice is that your positioning lines you naturally for the next hold. Another great tip is "smearing" smearing is basically putting your foot on the wall, I notice that you two didn't smear much probably because you two didn't know it was allowed, but nonetheless it's a great technique. Overall I was really impressed by your on-sight attempts, you understood where your holds were and made great uses of volumes (big wooden blocks what you are sitting on at 7:58) Raph: Ngl you did really really good nothing really challenged you, so it's hard to give you tips. The only thing I could give to you for advice is to use your feet more. There were many times where you cut loose and just hang from your arms, I think this is cause you are so strong that using your feet feels less "safe", however I could be wrong. Obviously the previous techniques (smearing and Flagging) I explained also apply to you Raph, but overall I think you did really really good. Just FYI you have to start with both hands on the starting hold (unless there is another hold that says second hand) and you have to hold that starting position for a 2-3 seconds before going. A lot of times the start is the hard part so just jumping on defeats the purpose and difficulty of most climbs. Similarly, you need to finish with both hands on the finish hold or the top of the wall id it doesn't say finish.

I did rock climbing on a first date and i started first having no experience. So looked at youtube videos on the way to the date, when i started i didn’t know there were categories in difficulties. I did the most difficult one i saw. (Not intentionally). It was the toughest one which most of the people there couldn’t do so they started to watch me. I went up 3 steps and got a bit confident and then face planted on the floor. In front of everyone. I didnt look up for 5 minutes straight. I just stayed there with my face on the ground as everyone walked away in disappointment. I lost all the confidence and happiness i had. But when i looked up she was still there worried. We have been together for 2 years now and laugh all the time about this😊
