The best ones are on the side of the big hill near the top. I witnessed two major specimens being found, one a ~40 x 15 cm apatite prism, and the other, a 20 cm long terminated crystal on matrix. This is circa 2010.

Very cool... I had to take a look a the blue snow on the rock cuts in the almaguin area burks Falls and South River... Is there a reason for blue ice on the rocks? It's not all like that and I don't think it's a light trick

Good to see your back with another video. I've been watching your videos for the last 6months approximately. I appreciate your background info on the minerals & crystals. Are you academically trained in this field or have you picked up all this information over time and personal research.

I am a professional gemologist by training, but there is a lot to be said for continuing your studies well beyond the formal qualifications. Life learning needs to continue.

That explains your in depth knowledge of the subject matter. Certainly agree with your comment in regard to continuing to build your knowledge. I did the same through necessity for my occupation. I'm no longer working so have taken up my childhood hobby of fossicking. Not a lot of success yet but it's a work in progress.

I live in Grey Bruce atm but am looking at relocating to Bancroft. I just found out last year that I could mine in Ontario. Where is the best place on finding information on identifying the minerals? I cannot wait to go back to Bancroft in the spring. Rock hounding has improved my health and wellness.

Hello Mr. Caver . First of all I would like to say , GREAT VIDS ! I think all that I have watched , have gotten a thumbs up . I have been urbexing ( is that even a word ;) ) for quite some time , and recently tried doing some research for tunnel/cave exploration in Guelph . An online post I came across had some comments made by you about tunnels under Kitchener . I CANT BELIEVE IT ! If you found some info , awesome , if not , I have a bit of info that you may be interested in . I don't want to talk about it here , but don't know how to contact you . I have lived in Kitchener most of my life , and know a bit about some tunnels as well . I really hope we can correspond . Thanks for your time and keep up the fantastic work !
