Those "splinters" of petrified wood look like the little pieces I find in the North Saskatchewan River. The edges are so smooth and straight that they look like bits of 2x4 - but there were no saws 300 million years ago!

Why did they stop letting people dig?
@BackcountrywithShaughn3 жыл бұрын
@@juju4842 Hey Julie, I do not know everything about it but as I understand the situation from speaking with them directly, there were a few major factors in their decision including the cost of Liability Insurance, an unfortunate family matter, changing crowd of customers, etc, etc and most important for their well being, they really want/wanted to retire soon. They're super nice folks with a ton of knowledge and if you get the chance to I would highly recommend a visit if nothing else than to see all the beautiful material and chat with Bonnie and John.

I didn't know petrified wood would ( tongue twister ) fall apart like that. I think I would break down & have a cry over that ! Lots of pretty stones there. Those with the big round cutouts would make really nice planters. If they have a comment box, tell them to install a sprinkler system. It would boost their sales or they could charge for a good rock wetting. PS. Is that Richardson Texas or elsewhere ??
