I agree with you that Rock Lee took a lot of L's in the series, but cant you make an argument that since might guy knows how to fight against the sharingan, he would teach Rock Lee too? And the fight with kimiario he wasn't one hundred percent(just got his surgery) and if he didn't make it in time to save naruto kimiairo would have killed naruto. So saving naruto I would consider that a little dub.

I mean the dude was not 100 percent when fighting kimiario but was still willing to put his life on the line to save his friends, don't you think he deserve a little bit of respect for that?
