As a huge Chris Cornell and Soundgarden fan (along with his other bands Temple of the dog and Audioslave) .. i'd be able to recommend so many songs but i'll keep it short with 3 songs i recommend 2 Soundgarden's songs "Slaves and Bulldozers" , "Limo wreck" and a solo song called "Seasons" by Chris Cornell

The lead guitarist, Kim Thayil, is of Indian descent, and he has openly cited Indian and Middle-Eastern influences in his style and melody choices.

He's one of the most interesting guitar players I've ever heard. Still for some reason I don't think of him when I think about moving guitar solos. He does have great chops though.

Ben Shepherd is so creative. I love his other collaborations as well, His solo album In Deep Owl is a favorite to listen to when I paint. This song is about Ben Shepherd's daughter being born. Slaves and Bulldozers live is my favorite by Soundgarden but they have so many amazing songs.

This was written by the bass player Ben Shepherd

Ben also played drums on this song!

Yeah it's a very different sound to the Cornell/Thayill pieces. I always liked it because it's so odd.

You should react to 4th of July off the same album tomorrow. Seems appropriate. Its one of their best songs and its heavy and dark af.

I recommend Tempest Gorgon for a reaction.

This is one of my favorite tracks on the album (even though there are no bad songs on it). Written by Ben Shepherd too. Great song.

The cover image is known as "screaming elf" and is a distorted picture of the band.

if i'm not wrong the elf is Chris in the forefront of the picture

Best part of the song is the end, the Guitar and the drums on fire.

Love this song it has a mellow vibe to it. I never noticed the cover art does look like a demon 😂

I always sing RHCP Soul to Squeeze to the intro of this song. "I got a bad disease. Gonna give you some of my good time."

It's really awesome to have a musician's take on this song

1984 is not banned in the greater U.S.! It's really just something that was on and off banned in the years leading up till now, and in every place it isn't banned its used commonly in high school English classes haha. Discovering your channel through this and lemme hit you with some of my biggest recommendations! Mercy (acoustic) by Stone Sour (the other rock band of Corey Taylor, usually known as the lead singer of Slipknot) Wrong Side by Chris Cornell (lead singer of temple of the dog, soundgarden, and audioslave) Erase Me by Ben Folds Five (not rock) Also the album cover is just a fried version of Chris cornell LOL

It is super weird, you have not listened to albums from bands like Soundgarden. I mean it's probably a good thing, you being a musician, that you don't get too much influence from outside music to keep your own original.

I'd recommend Fresh Tendrils off this album. An under appreciated track, I think. One of my personal favourites from Soundgarden.

Chris sort of copied Ben’s (bassist) singing style from his demo because he liked it so much.

We still have the 1st Amendment in the U.S. and very few books are 'banned' per se. There are controversial books which are out of print and difficult to find, but thanks to self-publishing and digital media, you can pretty much find any book you want. 1984 has never been banned in the U.S. and is still on many high-school reading lists.

o_O This is *SO* weird, watching someone try to take in Ben's track, out of context, without the rest of the album!! LOL I'll recommend the same as I always do for folk trying to isolate just one track from Superunknown: set aside an hour, & treat yourself to listening the whole thing thru *as the album it is* sometime If you can approach it open-minded, & allow yourself to sink into it.... it can be a profound experience. ;)
