Been binging the podcast. This was the first expert to avoid answering anything at all with certainty. He said “Yeah I think that’s right…” about almost everything. They could’ve done the episode without him. If he was just trying to be a nice person, he nailed it. Because he couldn’t be more agreeable.

I think most people who don’t like Floyd find them pretentious and also don’t like bands like Radiohead either. Probably more surprising that he didn't mention Cold Chisel which is an incredible band and in all seriousness probably should of had as much success as a band like ACDC but for some reason never really broke outside of Australia.

I have listened IDKAT episode, i love Jim. His knowledge of music is really shallow. He lives in a top poppy 100 world. His barometer is based on which hits someone had, not on musical talent. Phil Rudd is the only long term member of the band, in what you would call "the classic line up", to actually be born in Australia. BUT... The band was formed in Australia, came up in the Aussie pub rock scene and therefore... It's 100% an Australian band.
