Hide most likely didn't kill himself, his death was an incident. Taiji(former bass player before heath)wrote that the night he died try to do a kind of massage for the spine that he often did because of the weight of the istruments. In practice you tie a towel to the door and wrap it around the neck, sitting down to be able to stretch your back. Unfortunately at that moment he was drunk after a evening of partying whit is brother and friends. More than once Yoshiki and others have said that he loved life too much too kill himself. You should watch their documentary "We are X" :)

Art of Life is 30 min masterpiece... The highest point in their music. The monologue of one person who builds walls inside himself, and how time destroys him, but still he lives in the hope of getting out and finding the meaning of his life. Find his art of life. Yoshiki wrote this song in his 20s, it's about his experiences, how he sees reality and what he had to go through. The music is masterpiece, Toshi's voice conveys the essence better than anyone else. Piano solo is the highest point of the senses. This music is perfect, and Yoshiki wrote against two feelings - destruction and creation. I hope you someday watch and hear the Art of Life, because if someone gets to know X Japan, they will definitely come to this song.

Hide will always be iconic. I’ve been listening to this band since I was much younger, my uncle showed me when I was about 11 or so in 2001 and I loved it. Hide is the reason I picked up playing guitar.

Please do more X Japan ! Love these analyses you give. My personal favourites is Sadistic Desire Live in 1993 Hide does one of the most legendary solos on it. (ps: its ok if you pause it to speak, better that way even, Just not on the solo parts xd)

Yoshiki is the definition of art, he is def. a GOD! a once in a life time legend. Hide is one of the best guitarists I've ever seen, and I agree with that comment that you should never pause when he's playing solo. the crowd are actually singing in English except for few words: Endless rain, fall on my heart, (on my scars of my heart -Japanese) Let me forget all of the hate, all of the sadness
